    Re: spider prices

I think I am just going to wait til next weekend because I am looking for a burm too. all the breeding I know about and care, its just incubation. I have been working with two breeders over the past few months. The only reason why we are incubating at his place is due to the fact he has bigger incubator. So anything I go through I have for the most part learned over the past couple months, and I have help. I am even thinking about keeping Serenity at his place. I spend more time there then at home. But I really do think you for the advise and concern. I am really wanting to go ahead and get a rack and I can't find anything cheap online so I want to wait to see what they have at repticon, plus if I wait the one week I will have 2800 to spend there. When it comes to breeding the only thing I am not well versed in is morphs and genetics.

so if I breed a bumble bee to a normal what I could have the chance of getting is pastels and spider babies from my normal female. That right there sounds like I better idea.... now you gave me some ideas to play with... if I can get a male bumble bee and breed to my female norm I have the chance of getting 1/4 norm, 1/4 pastel, 1/4 spider and 1/4 bumble bee (of course just chances). according to world of ball pythons, if i can get hold of a female pastel as well I can maybe 1/8 killer bee. 1/8 super pastels. Now I know the odds gods are not always on our side but that is still pretty killer stuff. I can use my friends place for breeding if I can find some nice stuff and even house there at his house. These are some morphs the are hard to find in my area.

Now you're thinking! Since that pastel male you found is so nice, you could also look at still getting him, then a bee or spider female to grow up to breed him to in a year or two, after you've gotten a little experience with breeding to your normal female. You can typically find things cheaper at an expo, but there's also no equal to being selective in the genes you breed (there are much cheaper pastel males, but they and their babies won't look anything like that boy).

Right now I am looking at RoyalConstrictorDesigns and the cheapest I can find is 175
Male ball pythons can be sexually mature at 18 months, sometimes sooner.

I want to do pastels because I know the two pet stores will take these up fast, and sell them fast. for some reason if it isn't a pied your going to have a hard time finding it in this area so these two shops have to order out of state. Now of course that means it will probably be cheaper buying from me then out of state breeders

I got an awesome looking pastel at a reptile show a few weeks ago and he ate f/t small rats twice as he is alot bigger than a hatchling and the colors on him are ridiculous!!I am close to even saying the word Lemon! Listen to the people on here when they tell you to wait. Besides, shipping costs are crazy expensive!!! Just make sure you get the breeders card if you buy one. If he don't have a card get a pen and paper and write down their email and phone number. Most of the time they have business cards though. Great luck to you!!

I definitely wasn't intending to imply that you can't get great animals at shows. I've gotten about half of mine from breeders at Repticon, or a few weeks later after talking to a breeder at a show and finding out more about what else they still had at home. The point I wanted to make was not to rush, no matter where you select your BP.
