I've been racing motocross and desert since I was real little, so I've racked up a few... Broken both ankles (right one twice) which just leads to them getting sprained a few times later, dislocated right knee, exploded my left hip, broken my right collar bone 5 times (it's all misshapen and twisted now and sticks up where it doesn't belong), broken left collar bone once, and more concussions than i can remember.
I also tweaked my lower back in a car accident when I was 18, not sure what happened but I think it was just a sprain or something cause the swelling went down pretty fast.
Some of these happened after I got out of the Marine Corps but it was pretty funny; I had to wait for a special day to go get processed through MEPS because some medical specialist was only there a few days a month and they wanted him to see me cause so many joints are messed up. He signed off on me though and said I needed to stop racing haha.

Re: Worst Injury You've Ever Gotten?
Broke my collar bone when I was 5 from falling out of bed. First time my folks tried to remove the rail and guess didn't realize I was a reless sleeper. Had a BB lodged in my forearm which had to be cut out as an early teen. But the all time worst was a tangle with an 18" chop saw. Cut from the corner of the bottom of my thumbnail downwards across and through the joint. Fortunately it was still attached by about an 1/8" piece of skin. Thought I nicked it and went to the bathroom to wash. Still hadn't looked at it but when I rinsed I saw blood everywhere. A boss came up and asked what happened. Told him I think I cut myself BAD. He looked then grabbed me rushed me to the front office and told me not to look lol. I never looked at it until I was in the ER about 5-6 hours later while waiting on a hand spescialist. Sort of wished I hadn't looked. :omg:

I unfortunately have a bunch but here is three one kinda gross, one pretty serious and one I feel pretty stupid about. First when I was 19 I was working as a mechanic and a customer came in complaining of a belt squeal . I reached down and grabbed the belt to check tension and the old boy started the engine. It pulled my hand through the pulley taking the tips of two fingers just above the nail bed. The hand specialist was able to re attach them. Was a gross drive to the ER with my finger tips sitting next to me in a rag. Second I was dirt track racing in a sprinter when I hit the wall at 100 plus mph. Got a concussion, knocked unconscious , dislocated shoulder, 13 cracks in my ribs and two broken bones in my hand. And lastly I was driving home from work when I had to sneeze and like a fool I tried to stifel it. Big mistake the sneeze actually cracked a rib. Boy did I feel dumb trying to explain that to the doc.

My friend, same one who broke his collarbone on the bike jump, always holds in his sneezes like that. I ALWAYS tell him one day his brains gunna come outta his ears or something. In reality hes gunna bust a rib just like you lmao!
EDIT: also ive noticed a ton of people have broken their collarbones. Some people multiple times. Anyone know if this is a coincidence or if the human collarbone is just really weak?

It should. My wife looked like she was in a butt load of pain. It caused me great injury to my bank account. Lol.

I would call it injury with a happy ending!
I don't really have any of my own aside from a co upon broken toes and many self inflicted cuts, but my twin brother broke his femur when we were 4. He was playing with dad in the hall and had a twin size blanket in tow. He went to turn the corner and the blanket took his foot right out from under him. He had a cast from the foot of the leg that he broke, all the way up to his waist and down half of his other thigh. My mom still has the front half of it stowed away with other memories from our childhood.

You just wait, your bank account will suffer even more. Clothes, shoes, new snakes.... All things a growing girl must have. (Hard to say no when the child wants another snake!)

Re: Worst Injury You've Ever Gotten?
sometimes injuries can be cool. my daughter broke her arm a couple of weeks before starting school. when she started she did not know anyone but everyone wanted to know about the cool kid with a hot pink cast . Heck of a way to make friends though.
-
I have a bad back that'll spaz out at the worst times. Only hurts if I stay on my feet so I just hit the deck til it's over. Also have a recurring foot break I'll have to get checked out one day. I'll take a bad step and my right foot will go doublesize for a week - I do have a pretty cool cane I get to use though so that's not a total loss. And I'm pretty sure I got turned into a newt once, I got better.
-
Cracked my head open on the pavement from falling off a horse before I was two and a third degree burn on the inside of my leg before I was three. Don't remember those two, but my parents have told me about them. The worst one I remember was trying to slice my little toe in half with a sword.
My family (on my mom's side) has done a lot better though. My uncle tried to take his eye out by using a spring on the back of a trailer to throw rocks, that same uncle crushed his foot when he crashed his motorcycle and blamed it on my mom's horse, same uncle again tried to 'fly' off a roof when he was drunk (it was on his birthday, too, so they tilted his candles that year), my aunt was kicked in the head by a horse and they said if the horse had shoes on it would have killed her... I know there are more but I can't think of them...
-
The worst was when I broke my C7 vertebrae white water rafting, bouncing off the top of a 30 foot wave. I have a numb finger and often pain in my shoulder. I also when I was younger tore my knee apart stretched all the ligaments dislocated the joint and tore the meniscus. It always hurts now. I am not sure which is worst of the two both sucked a lot.
I can't imagine child birth!! I think (being a guy this is open to debate) the ends justify the means and that the result is worth the injury.

Re: Worst Injury You've Ever Gotten?
My appendix got infected and actually ruptured.
......And I went to the hospital a day LATER. (I was 11 and didn't complain to my parents about the pain.)
Another day and I would have died. I was in the hospital for 3 weeks.
They had to cut me open enough to get it all out.
I got 15 staples to close it back up. After the 15 staples got taken out, there was still a hole that they said would close on its on. It would leak puss and I could see into my stomach!
-
shot twice, torn achilles, tears in shoulder, detached bicep, fractured neck, cracked orbit, broken foot, all fingers and most of the bones in both hands, chain saw to the shin, torn ligaments in pelvis, countless burns, lots of animal bites, and some road rash sprinkled in to round everything out.
i think that about covers it. most of these were separate events.

Only if you did it without an epidural. Otherwise you probably couldnt feel most of it lol.:P Plus i would consider childbirth, in 90% of the case, a self inflicted injury. Unless you didnt choose to get pregnant, then its not your fault.

I hit a tree skiing that pretty much sucked lol Broke my collar bone and cracked a rib

Im always and forever hitting my head... on everything (usually doorframes)...
Never broke a bone though!! I've been really lucky :) Now havint said that I've probably jinxed myself :)

Another broken collarbone! This has to be more than a coincidence. Ive also heard its one of the most painful bones to break. Seems like all the cool kids are doing it regardless of the pain!!!:D

How do you hit your head on doorframes?
1. Your super tall?
2. Doorframes in the UK are built for short people? (a courtesy to all the leprechauns that live on your isle im assuming...)
3. If youre really that tall, like 6ft+, then that means that Grant needs to be playing in the NBA. Bc in the pics of you two, hes at least a foot taller hahaha :P
-
Two c-sections, a fractured toe (frozen hamburger is actually quite the solid object), and I tore my Achilles tendon in a freak bicycle accident. I sliced the tip of my thumb halfway off at the sandwich shop I worked for (not around actual food, I was using a knife to open a bag and it slipped).
Other than that, dogs try to bite me at work every day. :)

oh I know the pains of back spaz and numbness issues
cause of the cerberal pasley I have always had back discomfort and I had time were it spaz or just poke ( like you can do to your knuckles) and th next thing I know i am laying onthe ground like a ragdoll was tossed in a fit by a child lol. so far not broekn anything in the falls ( outside the items I fall into ) lol
I remember helping my cousin move with his first wife we were brinngi a tv up from the basement ( those old floor models that got wheels and such ) and we got 2/3 up the steps when he loses grip well the next thing we allknow is that i sitting at the bottom of the steps thought the concrete wall and the tv busted all to heck. (and i talknig about the cinder blocks you see people have cars sitting on I went though the wall from the tv. the father in law was so freaking upset over the wall that I was a second though We laighed about it for years saying I put the man of steel trainning on lol

Most of my stuff has been internal, which is no fun at all, I can promise you!
Too many sprains to count (I'm highly double-jointed, so I shift things out all the time). Some joints dislocate if I'm not careful, or paying attention. My pinky finger is notorious, which is fun when someone watches me put it back in. They tend to go white.
Hm. First big one was when I was a kid and fell of a 2nd story balcony when the railing gave way. Landed on grass.... almost. My knee didn't. And I caught it on an edge of concrete on the way down. It cut my knee open just below the kneecap, and folded the skin up and back into my thigh so my kneecap and all my tendons were exposed as I sat there screaming. Fortunately, the homeowner was a paramedic and his buddy a fireman, haha. They wrapped me up so good that the doctors didn't even want to unwrap it because it was held together perfectly. Didn't need stitches, and now the scar is only 2" wide.
My two worst were internal infections. I ended up with a kidney infection that was hyper aggressive and spread to both kidneys within 48/hrs. I couldn't sit, sleep, lay down... I was bent over and just 'rocked' back and forth to manage the pain. They had me on massive doses of anti-biotics and gave me two days for it to get better. I had a fever, chills, muscle spasms, nausea, the whole bit.
Another time several years later I ended up with food poisoning. Ick! Anyone who's had that knows how painful that is sometimes. Well, I was doing okay for a day afterwards, then I ended up with brutal abdominal pain. I left work, went home, felt better. But by the middle of the night I was at about an 8 out of 10 for pain. It was just awful. Went to the family doctor. He tells me: "It's just cramps" (Yes, because I'm a complete moron and don't know what those feel like ). He sent me home with pain meds. By midnight, I couldn't even move. I couldn't stand up. I couldn't even walk up the stairs to tell my mom that I wanted an ambulance. Who asks for an ambulance? Gah. I barely remember anything after that.
Ended up in the ER getting poked and prodded. I was told: "It's probably just cramps." Meanwhile, I can't stop sobbing. Another few hours later and after running some tests, the head guy finally walks in and starts asking me questions, rather than the 'student' they had working with me. He finally determined that I wasn't 'faking it for drugs' or 'just having an anxiety attack'. Turns out I had blood poisoning of the lower abdomen, specifically the intestines. Basically, I was dying, haha. See? Told you it wasn't cramps! I even got morphine with that one. Whew.
Needless to say, if that's anything like childbirth, I want no part of it. Worst few days of my life. Just thinking of it makes me anxious. :weirdface

Basically. I'm incredibly accident prone. For instance:
The other day I needed to be up at 7:15am. I woke up to my alarm and looked at the time and (somehow) read 8:15am...needed to get the bus at 8:30.
So launched myself out of bed, which is fairly high up off the ground, and also didn't realise quite how close to the edge I was so fell onto the floor hitting my face on the side table. I threw myself at the door, pulled the door open - but at the same time...tried to go through the door, and so opened the door into my face, cursed a bit...then walked into the side of the doorframe with my eyes closed.
Believe it or not, this happens on a regular occasion.
No Leprechauns in England and I'm only 5ft ;) Hehehe :P

Ive gotten sick from eating food before but nothing to that extent lol. My stepmom gave me blue cheese dressing for a salad a few weeks ago that was like 8 months old. I was vomiting like 10 minutes later, didnt even make it to dessert lol. Im actually kinda thankful that im one of those people who can just throw up. Idk how to explain it exactly without being gross but if something hits my stomach that my body doesnt like it pushes the eject button pretty quickly. Id much rather have it be like that than coming out the other end lmao!

Idk if brits are as obsessed with reality tv shows as americans are but it seems like everyone watches them over here. I can assure you that if you had a tv show and caught that whole door-to-the-face ordeal on camera then it would be much more popular than Jersey Shore :rofl::rofl::8:

it was a semi automatic .22. could have been a lot worse. just damaged some meat, no bone or anything vital.

I think that the worst I've ever had came from a tumble down a 20 foot cliff. I cracked four ribs, sprained my ankle, wrist and elbow, skinned both knees, most of one leg, and most of the bottoms of my feet. What makes me laugh is that I landed about a foot away from a patch of poison ivy. Because the idiot park ranger was ill prepared, I had to climb back up the cliff, cross a waterfall, and then walk half a mile uphill to where we parked because the jerk wouldn't let me into his car because I was wet and bleeding.
The most pain I've ever experienced was probably after hemorrhoid surgery, with kidney stones and ovarian cysts being tied for second. I had the misfortune of having a couple of cysts rupture during an ROTC inspection. I was stabbed in the leg once, but the guy ran away, and I scored a nice Benchmade knife, so it wasn't all bad.

got t boned an rolled in a hummer. 2 surgeries a year of physical therapy an lots of spine\shoulder\knee problems im still alive a kickiin

I was 17 years old. Thinking I was a bad ass, I tried to kickflip a ten stair.. Landed it awesome the first time, but my board shot out from under me. Second time going at it...I bail after catching it with my feet in the air, end up landing on my left foot in tippy toe position with all my weight on that foot. So I end up snapping all my bones in my left foot, the doctor described it as hanging half my foot off of a curb and taking a sledge hammer straight to the top of it. In a cast and crutches for 6 months.

Nice description, was able to picture the pain in my head pretty well. LMAO OUCH!!!

Never had anything to bad myself, fully dislocated my shoulder playing football and kept playing, prolly the dumbest thing I've ever done as well, it still gives me problems to this day.
Since I have seen some weightlifting injuries, I will share mine, not bad but funny. I was maxing out on bench in highschool my jr year and pulled a hammy, lol.

Lol nahh no mac truck, the guy in the car basically pit maneuvered the hummer I was in sending it flipping down the street. Had I been in any other car I'd of been dead. It rolled around 7 times. Thankfully it got caught on the guard rail other wise even for as good as the hummer held up a few more rolls an we would have been crushed to death. I'm not a hummer fan but I was glad I was in one that day

It was september 2008. We were going to do a training exercise with some grunts so essentially we were role players. We all loaded up in the back of a 7 ton something we call armadillos:

Not sure if the link works... Anyway these things are like giant steel cans on wheels and they carry troops in the back without seatbelts I might add. The driver decided to have some fun on the way to the training area doing 65 in a 35 around "dangerous curves". well we rolled over. I ended up with a broken nose a 5 inch laceration to my face fracture sinuses 2 sprained wrists and some serious abrasion to my fingers and a sever concussions. $42000 and 72 hours in the hospital fixed me right up. Along with 30 days light/limited duty.... later during the investigation I told the CO I knew were going to be role playing but I didnt actually know they meant litterally... LOL!

My worst injury was a badly sprained ankle... multiple times and the same one. I'm pretty lucky other then having a weak ankle now. I'm afraid to ever break a bone XD
