Your snake is unaffected by red light huh? Please show me the research that backs up your statement....Oh, what's that? You don't have any research...you've just read where everybody said BP's can't see in the red spectrum. Yeah, that's what I thought.

You might have given some thought to the fact that no one has done any substantive research into how different spectrums of light affect BP behavior. I can tell you from my personal observations with my own BP's that they can see under red spectrum lighting....but like every one else, I can't tell you how much they see under red light. I don't see any reason to risk stressing my snakes because it looks pretty. If you want to take the risk, more power to you.
its my choice, even the breeder i got it from suggested a red light for night viewing. Zoo med sells Red heat lamps with the intent of night viewing. i even think it says it on the box. if you haven't done enough research your self to confirm or deny that they can or cannot see red definitively then you dont have a right to be a critic. PS: its a WELL documented fact that most if not all nocturnal animals cannot see the red light spectrum. so have you done your research?

also i don't appreciate the fact that your talking down to me like im an uneducated moron who is incapable of looking up facts about a subject. if you knew me you would have thought twice about asking if i did the research.

EDIT: to add to this ill explain red light, its the longest of wave length in the light spectrum. this IS the reason why nocturnal animals cannot see it there eyes do not proses light of that wave length.
