It showed a lack of sportsmanship.. I certainly hope he gets a good talking to at least.

One of the things I love about the modern UFC(MMA in general too, but at some levels this doesn't apply) is the respect among the fighters.. So many hugs after fights! These guys love what they do, and for the most part don't do it because they're angry and just want to beat people up legally. They're just athletes.

The bone just below your knee is extremely strong...and that's how you check a kick!

The guy kicking didn't throw the kick properly. Notice how it looked like was kicking a soccer ball. You need to angle those kicks in from the side by rotating your hips, so if your opponent does check it with his upper shin, most of the force is deflected away and not directly back at your shin (causing a break). At least thats how I have been taught....

    This is the idea:

in mma we are taught to kick with our shins, I have trained at many different schools/camps and rolled in seminars with ufc fighters such as chris leben, kenny florian, sean sherk, and bodog womans champion tara larosa. They all claim that you kick with your shin. The same way that Corey Hill did, but when you are kicking with such incredible force accidents do happen

Where did I say not to kick with your shin? That's a cornerstone of Muay Thai...

There's more to a kick than just what body part makes contact...a properly executed outside leg kick involved hip rotation, as well as dropping your body weight into the kick. The kick should come in from the side, and you should be aiming above the knee. The guy that broke his shin didn't appear to be doing either.
