Oh no! Bad, bad girl. I'm so sorry your girl made a break for it, and I hope you find her soon. Remember snakes aren't as tall as you, so you'll have to come down to the lower climes of us lesser mortals.

    think like a snake.

I needed to figure out first, how she got out..like direction wise. I started thinking..she must slid down the mid section of my rack...but she wasn't in that...so I had Jeff un-nail and lift the entire bottom of my rack, it is hollow under and just big enough for a fat a to get under...sure enough...there she was.

So just think...think like a snake.

Something warm..dark..and quiet. I am sure she isn't far!

    Will do bud!!

Make sure there's a blanket or something stuffed under the door just in case she can squish out of the room that way. Start a search in one corner and fan outwards checking everything especially deep inside any closets, under dressers, between mattresses, etc. If you figure there's no way a snake could get in there....check that place first!

If it gives you hope, we had one of our female snakes disappear on us. Out of a locked tub, out of a secure snake room. One little clip is all it took that wasn't quite clipped on right and she was gone. How she got out of that room I'm not sure. Either she got under the door or snuck out when the room was open during cleaning/feeding.

We found her, Joe, or rather she found us. On another floor of the house in a room (our master bedroom) where the door is shut 95% of the time. One day, out of the blue, there she was. Knocked over a stack of paperbacks and was parked on top like she was wondering when we'd finally get around to finding her. Not a mark on her, not much weight loss, not even acting stressed at all.....basically just a bit thirsty. She'd been missing 4 months.

Don't give up hope and keep looking. Also if you don't find her right away watch for evidence like urates, sheds, things moved out of place, that might indicate where she's at.
thanks for the ray of hope Jo.
i will set up her hide with a water bowl and a heat lamb tonight.

Re: I'm pissed...in need of some luck.

Man; that bites the big one I hate escapees.. I have not had one in awhile (well, my BCI escaped a few months ago and woke me and my honey up by knocking my prized porcelain horse off of a shelf and breaking it.. ::blushes::
But yes, I would think like your snake. Look under and inside the parts of endtables, coffeetables, bookcases, in drawers.. under sofas or chairs and allll inside them (you don't want to look not-deep enough and miss your snake being coiled up in there..)
I have been there and did lose one snake's life when she got into the basement and died, years ago. It is tough and yes it happens from time to time. I hope that you find your escapee..!
I would also keep outside doors and windows closed, and tell people that you live with to make sure they stay closed. Any doors with openings at the bottom (like my stupid front door) should be closed as well. And maybe block off any open heating vents/grates with large holes if any.. maybe plug up the drains in your bathroom (but make sure that the faucets are off!)

I hope you don't seriously think she got outside. If she did, you live in Ohio with freezing winters, being upset over not being able to breed albino babies would be the least of my concerns.

I sure hope you find the snake. That would suck if it got outside.
