I read somewhere that it may be more humane to cool an animal by putting it in the refrigerator before freezing it. It is supposed to reduce the possibility of the pain of ice crystals forming in the flesh. Not that it doesn't happen but the animal is less aware of it.

Don't know where I read it nor details such as how long to fridge it before you freeze it. Actually I'd really like to hear some feedback on whether or not this is true, since I don't know for sure.

Chase, I'm really sorry to hear about your deformed hatchling. This is something that I truly dread in looking forward to possibly breeding one day (especially how the kids will react).
