Re: Bad news.....nightmare
If I had to deal with this scenario I think I would try the CO2 chamber, seems the most humane to me also. I'm really sorry for the loss.

If you read the entire thread before posting, I said earlier I won't do this. I want its death to be as comfortable as possible, and by how much bp.net stresses on keeping temps dead on for the comfort(and other things) of the snake, I don't see how the freezer is an accepted form. The death aspect is just as important as the life IMO.

Nevertheless, the brain of a decapitated reptile may remain active for up to an hour, so decapitation by itself is inhumane.

Freezing has been used as a humane method to kill small reptiles under one pound in weight. Although low temperatures do result in a state of torpor, the formation of ice crystals in the tissue is quite painful. Freezing should only be done to anesthetized animals.
Thank you, that was very informative and resourceful. I think I'm going to go with the dryice chamber. Thank you for those that showed help and sympathy. This really is hard for me.

Not quite enough yet.. The animal is way over an hour old, and still suffering.. It could have been over and done with by now, But somebodey feels bad for it and wants it to suffer 10 more days before he can make up HIS LITTLE mind on what to do with said Animal.. Poor thing!! And I wouldnt chop its head off, That was a joke like I said. But It would go in the freezer the minute it hatched.

Re: Bad news.....nightmare
they are cold blooded put it in the freezer and it will just fall asleep... Big breeders and small breeders feel bad when they get one of those but its the best way to do it... i know you dont want to because you think it would hurt but your thinking like a warm blooded animal.

if you cant afford to take care of it, dont get it

You have no idea if the animal is suffering. I'm sitting right next to it and it is doing the same routine of hatching as any other snake. Its just deformed and wont be able to feed so it needs to be put to sleep. And how can you say 'poor thing' after making a joke about chopping its head off. I already asked you to stay off the thread twice and you even agreed to it. Now for the 3rd time, shut up.
