a half hour doesn't seem incredibly long IMO.
just an anecdote: my one CG girl will sometimes sit there like she's "guarding" the rat for 15 minutes (after strike+coil) before she starts to figure out how to get it in her mouth lol. she's my weirdest/pickiest eater.
maybe Mia was excited for a nice big meal and wanted to savor it.
