I once made my own, out of Melamine. It did have a back and sides but it ended up being SO VERY HEAVY I never made another one, LOL !!!
It was heated by heat tape going up the back , 2 stripes. It was just a hatchling rack, put together for that "surprise" clutch my huge rescue female laid. But it worked really well !!! As long as you didn't have to move it, LOL
