I honestly think if a fogger did cause an ri it was more than likely that the person just left it on for way too long or used dirty water or something but blamed the machine anyway.

Ah, i bet if you tried you would do fine. You could always try practicing on a small scale till you get it just how you want it then try it on the actual tank. (I do this for new projects sometimes.) Plus, the amount of info out there on bioactive makes it pretty easy in the end. I made a substrate mix. If you want i could give you the recipe. Cost me about 50-60 bucks and i did two 4ft vivs and still have a 27gal tote full of it.

And as for asking so many questions, dont worry about it. That is what this place is for. Besides, it is better to ask, then to not know.

Yeah, I went and looked some things up right now. I agree, a lot of what came up seems to link water quality and poor maintenance rather than the fogger itself. I clean mine out every week and use bottled water (which, if the label is reliable at all, is demineralized).

That's a great idea. I might just start a mini-viv project when I find some free time. I've seen the vast amount of info and guides on bioactive setups, and some of them are really remarkable with the way they think of solutions to stuff. For now, I think I'll keep her on paper towels, but your substrate recipe would sure come in handy for when I get deep into making the bioactive viv!

Again, all your help is very much appreciated. It's a constant learning process when it comes to keeping a BP for the first time, haha.
