As others have said, thermostats are not optional for ball pythons. An unregulated UTH will burn a BP as they burrow or push down to the bottom of the tank where the UTH is.

Jumpstarts are $20 right now on Amazon

Excellent! If you need help on where to place the probe, just ask. Probe goes in contact with the UTH outside the enclosure.

Is the probe small enough to fit under the tank and not get squashed? The one I have for my blue tongue Skink has a pretty thick cable and a probe that's like an inch long

Now that the whole Thermostat topic has been resolved, is there anything else? Do the snakes seem healthy? Are the setups ok (besides the lack of plants)? I'm assuming everything else is fine since everyone was occupied about the thermostat and ignored almost everything else.

Ideally you wedge the probe between the UTH and the glass but those zoomed UTHs are often to bulky to do that so in that case you tape it (no tape on that actual probe but on the cord) to the UTH and use styrofoam to keep it in place.

Alrighty, will do that soon as it arrives.

Also wanted to ask, my BEL roams in his tub a lot more than my mojave, I'm assuming this may be because he's looking for somewhere warm? When I open his tub he doesn't seem to mind my presence. I put my hand in the tub to see his reaction and he simply climbs up. Is it okay for me to do this repeatedly (by repeatedly I mean roughly every time I see him out roaming for an extended amount of time, holding for about 10 minutes per time)? I thought it would be good since my hands could warm him up a bit and he doesn't seem to mind at all since he's approaching me rather than me picking him straight out. He didn't seem stressed/scared (Relaxed breathing, no flinching, wasn't balling up, nor did he have that S shape posture) over the whole ordeal.

My Mojave however has been hiding a lot. I haven't handled her since the day that I first got her. Currently she's hiding in the Gelato container. I'm assuming I shouldn't handle her at all unless she clearly doesn't mind going near my hand? I know I shouldn't handle them (or just about any animal, really) when they're in their hide. I only did it once to the BEL because he got the paper towel in to the bowl and soaked the whole paper. Other than that, I haven't done anything else handling wise.

Don't handle new snakes for at least a week. Give them that time to de-stress and know their surroundings. After that handle as much as you like providing you give them 24-48 hours after meals to digest. If mine are in hides, I shake the hide a bit to wake them, then lift hide and get them out.

Even if they don't seem to mind it?

Well one thing I failed to remember was to place something heavy on the lid of the female. Now she's loose somewhere in the house

i checked everywhere in my house, closets, shoes, beds, couches, sofas, anything on the floor, dressers, shelves, under everything, all rooms in the house, and near other tubs. She can't have gone outside the house, there's no hole that leads outside.

She escaped this this morning and I've been frantically trying to find her all day. Now I've tried placing her hides from her cage, hopefully she smells that it's familiar and she can feel safe in it and go in there. I'd place the heat mat but if I place it of the floor without anything she'll get burned if she gets on it. What else should I do?

I figured she has to be somewhere in my room, my door was closed before she escaped and I doubt she could fit under the doors gap. I checked the whole house regardless however. I've also placed towels under the door gaps so it'll trap her in if she is in my room.

Best thing to do is get a small ventilated plastic container and put a mouse in it and place container in middle of room. The smell could drive a hungry snake out.
