    My husband hates hognose too he just does not like their face. Bottom line we are adults and have a compromise when it comes to snakes, however you live under your mother's roof and that's different, her home, her rules and you need to respect that, consider lucky that she at least allows BP.

    Also keep in mind that while rear fanged (making the delivery system poor) and having a very mild venom, hognose are still however considered a VENEMOUS species and reaction to a bite may vary. They are however no prone to bite.
