2 Weeks in with new BP

ok, so i've had my BP for about 2 weeks now and to me everything seems good. Tank seems to be steady with 85-90 Hot side and 75-80 on cool side, and humidity is steady around 60-65%. She stays in her warm side hide majority of the time and roams around the tank some then goes back to her hide again. She's had 2 meals, first was assisted and today i got her to tong feed(took her 2 strikes, but she's learning right). She doesn't mind me handling her at all, about once a day for 15-20 mins and sometimes seems to stare at me when she goes back in her tank as to why am i putting her back in lol, hasn't once struck at me thinking i might be food or a threat. So I guess, besides getting her weight up a little more(few agreed from another thread she looked a little thin), she seems "happy" to me. Just waiting now on her first shed which im guessing will be soon.

Does it sound like to you guys she's settled in good?

i'd stop handling her until she's eaten a few more times with you. typically you should wait for 3 successful feedings before beginning handling, and so far she's had 1. why did you assist feed her?

Hey...I'm in the same boat as you. Two weeks now and two feedings under my belt but I've been holding off on any type of contact as to not jeopardize the acclimation process. At least that's the advice I received on this forum. Planning to start holding after the next feeding. Like you, I see my BP occasionally late at night but the other times he's in his hide on the hot side. Good luck!

    ok, i will do that.

as far as the assist feeding, she hadn't eaten for the handler at the petco that i got her from in about 2 weeks, which made 3 weeks at the time i fed her. She was pretty thin at that point, and after talking to the guy(seemed like a trusting guy and had plenty of info to give) at the store when i went in for food he said it would be a god idea to get some food in her if she didn't take it on her own.

i see. well, since she's eaten successfully for you, don't assist feed her again. you don't assist feed an animal that knows how to eat.
