    I don't have experience with this situation, but if you can't find information from someone who has had this happened to them, I would consider tying a string tightly around the connection. I know that this method can be used by dermatologists to remove skin tags. I bet if you contacted one of the big name breeders, they might be able to help you. Justin Kobylka and Garrick Demeyer are two names that come to mind quickly.
