    I would not, if he did strike it was a defensive strike, im having the same issue with one of my snakes, and im keeping stress to a minimun and no handling until she eats again, i only go in her cage to change the water and try to give her food. Its more important to get him to eat than to handle, youre gonna have 20+ years to handle. Do you feed in a "feeding box"?
