Never fails with workers in the house...

So I'm having my central AC/Heat replaced. Will be 3 days of workers in and out and no heat/AC.

Of course they notice the Display cage and ask how big the snake is. (Jag only has his head and upper half sticking out the hide, watching, lol) When I tell them, they act like I just told them he is an anaconda, sheesh, LOL.
I mean, he really does have a sweet face for a snake, all BP's do.

Then they ask how many snakes I have, I tell them. Its just 7, so not to many. They act like I have a whole zoo and of course they ask to see them.
The funniest reaction is the rack, I guess they expect a teeny tiny garter snake to live in a tub. So when I open the one with my big Bumblebee, they literally squeaked and jumped back as if she would hurl herself 3 feet through the air to get them, haha.

I understand fear of snake. I used to have a snake phobia myself. But why do they always want to see, only to get freaked out?
I even showed them how sweet she is by petting her head (which she doesn't mind) They stared at me as if I was wrangling with a lion.

They did admit she was pretty. Probably because I just about forced that out of them, haha.

I once took my Lesser who was around 2400grams to the vet and you would have thought I walked in with a 24 ft Retic. HAHA A couple in the waiting room quickly grabbed their daughter's hand and pulled her closer when they heard me checking my girl in.

i took Yellow to the vet when he was only ~100g (i panicked after he tore a scale off on his face). he was in his container inside a winter beanie, and the people around me (about 4) with dogs started getting curious what i had in the hat. i told them and they immediately asked to see him, and when i showed them they all seemed so shocked, backed away and started to tell me how much they hate snakes and are scared of them. the weird curiosity people have with snakes when they "hate" them is so goofy to see in person.

another time my fridge broke in my apartment: a guy came in to work on it and started moving stuff around in the freezer, so i mentioned "there's rats in there, just so you know." the guy turned around so fast and had a look of sheer horror on his face. i asked if he wanted me to move everything, and he said yes, please.

I have a similar funny story!! I have a additional freezer in the garage, but that is just "for us". No snake food. I also have an additional fridge in the garage, and the top freezer part is ONLY for rats. The fridge part (separate doors for both) we use to store extra drinks, etc.

One time we were cleaning our garage, had it open and stuff outside, the floor was clean and we were starting to put stuff back up.

One of those weird "steak trucks" stopped by. They drive around and sell steaks and chicken and what not. All vacuum sealed and supposedly a "deal".
They were very aggressive and wouldn't take no for an answer, they kept dropping the price on a "package deal" and laid out all this freaking meat on our garage floor!!!

I kept telling them I don't need any, my freezer is full.

So they looked at my extra freezer and extra fridge. One guy jumps up and says, oh look, you got ALL that extra space, and he freaking opens my freezer (which was full) and then opens the small freezer above the fridge, that is full of dead rats in see through ziplock bags.

OMG...LMAO. You should have seen his face...I about wet myself. He just stared for a few seconds. Not saying anything. Then he closed the fridge , packed up, and left...

I still laugh about that one

Won't lie I'd have definitely grabbed a bag of large rats and told him I have enough meat for me and the family.

I had lucky at the vet the other day for her eye infection, and everyone and their brother wanted to see what was in the box but when I said its a ball python I'd get the "oh..." response haha. Shes 200 grams...a tiny noodle...not intimidating in the least but NOPE terrifying lol.

I think Ball Pythons especially have such a "friendly" face. For a snake

Had a water heater tech come over. Did his job and started filling the receipt form on the closet on which sits my breeding female rack.
Of course one of them came to the front of the transparent tub to check out what was going on, he saw the movement, lifted his sight from the paper and jumped at least a foot in the air once he saw what it was.
He finished writing the receipt on the building stairs.
