Yeah i switched them up by accident. The acurite is measuring my hot side and cool side. The device is on the surface on the hot side right under the hot spot and the probe is on the cool side. I did some tampering with the setup and now the herpstat is reading 93.5 which is the goal tempature i set it for and the acurite is reading 85.5. So what should i do in this situation

If it's glass, there will be a bigger difference in temps between the UTH and the glass, but you won't know the temperature of the surface of the glass unless you get a temp gun. The ambient temperature in your tank can be 90, but the surface of the glass directly above the heat pad could already be 100 degrees, which is too hot and can burn your snake.

If even your acurite is reading 90 degrees, I would turn down your thermostat for the heat pad to 98 degrees for now. The ambient temperature doesn't need to be that high to begin with. Only the hot spot (the glass directly above the heat pad) should be around 90 degrees, and it should be cooler in other areas of the tank.
