As for your snake wrapping around it there is no way, they are so thin that it really couldn't get a good grip. The RBI ones ate 1.75 inches thick I believe and pro products in 1 inch I think. Its something you don't need to worry about. But I get where your coming from but after you see how thin they are you will understand. They also mount flush to the top of cage so there's no way for your snake to crawl into it.
ProProducts are made of aluminum for the outer case. I didn't realize there so thin. My boa could wrap around it I THINK. She's 5 ft long. Most of the time I've seen them on sites, the RHPs hang from the cage's ceiling. Perhaps it would be better to have it so the RHP's radiant panel is flush w/the cage's ceiling, like fluorescent ceiling lighting in buildings we often see... I ordered 4 of those Accurites!
