"Daddy" is ralph davis' term for a hidden gene that is compound heterozygous to everything in the blue eyed lucy complex. Its kinda hard to discribe the appearance, the snake basically turns out like a tricked out version of the BEL gene its crossed with. Very simlilar, but way better. When a BEL gene isnt present the snake appears completely normal, but its actually carrying the "daddy" gene (often called a "het daddy" )

The snake that founded lesser platinum lines was a "daddy". Thats why ralph called them "lessers", because that snake's original offspring were still really nice, but didnt turn out quite as cool as the founder. It wasnt until he crossed the normal looking offspring from those pairings to the lessers that he reproduced the appearance.

Does anyone know if the homozygous form of the daddy gene shows up visually? Its something ive always wondered but never seen or heard any info on.

    Your butters are amazing!
