do you have it on a timer or just constantly running? What is the humidity on the inside of the cage?

the humidity gauge doesnt get above 40%. maybe i have it up too high on the wall? not on a timer. but i refil it every morning and let it run till it runs out of water. think a timer, moving my gauge down a bit and maybe decreasing how much "fog" is being pumped out? i know how damp the aspen shavings are cant be good for his skin.

Re: dumb question but need help
What kind of gauge are you using to read your humidity? The circle analog ones aren't very accurate. If your substrate stays damp, it definitely should be above 40%.
I'd suggest switching to something digital like an Acurite thermometer with a humidity sensor.
Also, definitely decrease the fog amount and add a timer. With the substrate always being so damp, your BP can develop scale rot and you have a chance of getting mold.

X2 on the timer and acurite, I doubt you need to run the fogger that long I would start with only 5 minutes a day and monitor, adjust as needed.

Since no one asked, are you using a screen top, and if so have you covered everywhere but where the fixtures, if any, go through with a moisture barrier of some sort? Tinfoil, plastic or whatever. I agree with the other suggestions here, but you'll be fighting a losing battle with humidity if you have open screen.
Where are we going, and why am I in this handbasket?
