If the OP's room is already 80 degrees it really shouldn't take much to create a 90 degree hot side.

I found my humidity was suffering with my ceramic bulb in my vivarium. I added a water bowl and placed one directly under the heat and one on the cool side and I mist during shedding.

My vivarium is 3ft by 1 ft by 1ft and I use a 100w bulb, I'm not sure how the gallon sized enclosures work as it's not something we measure in over here

Yes that option of course crossed my mind, but still, come summer when I'm at work my apt gets around 80-85 and had a 100 watt bulb and my tank only got to 90. He is in Fla,where it's hot year round, maybe on avg it's 80 when no one is not home, but what about when they are in the hot summer months and when it gets hotter come spring..ACs kick on,if anything he should stay with 100 watt.. 55 gallon is a big tank man,not that u don't know.

Do you have a thermostat that measures humidity that if I hook up a humidifier to it when it got below a set humidity it would turn on a humidifier

Get a timer and hook a humidifier up to it..then mess around and find what works well for you. Just as an example, set it to go on for 15 seconds every 5 hrs and just go with the flow and see what works..it's trial and error with that..no one can give you an exact answer for that. They can give you ideas. But Unfortunately, messing with temps and humidity etc requires you too put in effort of your own.

in my tank I leave a analog hygrometer to measure humidity...I have it placed accordingly.

interesting, the bearded dragon cages I have no problem hitting over 100° with a 50 watt bulb, with a screen front in a 75°-80° room.

I have to ask, are you actually using a heat lamp or just a regular 100 watt incandescent light bulb? to only have a 5° difference is kind of odd.

edit: we use 50 watt, not 75 watt, they got over 120 degrees.

I'm not sure what your talking about with a 5 degree difference, lol,I actually have no idea what your talking about

im using a 100 watt day time heat lamp during the day obviously .and a 75 watt zilla red basking bulb at night..

and my temps are as described and if you are questioning my 5 degree diff,I'm stating depending the situation and what my apt gets during let's say winter and summer..no AC on or the AC on, the heat on or off, winter season or summer season..my apt isn't exactly 70 degrees year round,I live in NY,have diff seasons..

Believe it or not, it turned out that 90 minus 85 = 5 degrees, aka the difference.
