You need to quarantine any new animals that come into your house. Do NOT put that new python near your already established one.

I suggest quarantining for at least 3 months.

If you do decide after quarantine to add her to the tank, be sure to use a dark divider. Seeing each other will most likely stress the snakes out.

I never said to not quarantine a new animal. Some people quarantine for 3 months, but it's not necessary for 3 months, unless you don't know the exact source of what you're getting. I never said a week either, I said I quarantine for a week unless it's WC or I'm getting from a person that I don't know all too well.

Edit:
I only said a week because you said you were getting from a friend, and I'm assuming you know this friend and how he takes care of his animals. If I were getting something straight from a pet store, then I would quarantine it for more then a week, but I would not buy something from a pet store. If I were to buy a ball python I would buy from either Tim Bailey or Sean from EBN, both people which I know very well and I know they take care of their animals. Then I would only quarantine a week and I would still treat for mites regardless, even though they don't have mites.
