Sometimes the email activation part of the registration can cause delays - sometimes it gets moved to a junk email folder by mistake and sometimes it gets flagged as spam by an internet provider.
In these situations we can fix the problem this end but that relies on one of the Admins being online. Occasionally real time commitments can cause a delay in that happening.

I stand corrected. Never had an issue myself. Thanks for clarifying!

The screenshot of Garrick's response is nothing but helpful in this situation, where people are in fact anxious to get a response - This thread would probably be another 8 pages long by now, if it wasn't known that Garrick was intending to come post after the fact.
Nobody said that Garrick shouldn't have the right to defend his name... however he shouldn't have even had to defend his name, since no one was even making a claim against him. The OP asked a general question, privately messaged another member trusting that he could confide in them, only to have that person reveal the breeder's name publicly. I'm sorry to the OP that he chose the wrong person to confide in. I'm sorry to Garrick that he now even has to waste his time defending himself because of it. I'm sure he has better things to be doing, and now having to take his time out of his day to worry over this DRAMA is ridiculous.
As for the OP disappearing, he's probably fed up with everything. I know I would be, if my simple general question got blown completely out of proportion and now I have to worry about my large transactions and relationship between said breeder. I would disappear from this discussion too. Lets not forget that the OP NEVER WANTED THE BREEDERS NAME EXPOSED. He wasn't trying to slander anyone. So he's not running and hiding from anything but a bunch of crap that got blown up.

Well put. It's amazing how some people feel they are owed something on a forum. Sad that the op didn't want to put the breeders name out there yet another member felt it was his/her duty and right to. If it were me I would have disappeared as well. I love forums to learn from (with a grain of salt) but personally get tired of sifting through a bunch of know it all posts to find some valuable info. But such is life online! Reminds of the commercial. "Must be true I saw it on the Internet"

This was good stuff. Got me through my whole bowl of raisin bran crunch and then some.
I'd still be hesitant to come to any conclusions until Garrick posts pics of the emails where Derrick says he wants to ship regardless of temps...

If you send me a PM, without checking first to see if I'm willing to keep what you send me private, you have made the huge mistake of ASSuming I will not share as I see fit what you have sent.
The person pm'd was under no obligation, that I know of, to keep anything a secret.
This was not blown out of proportion, it actually brought to light some of the intricacies of online selling and buying, how important it is to READ a seller's TOS and how to answer questions without making it seem like you're hiding facts that are pertinent to the problem. The OP failed to provide what was needed to be of assistance to him. The OP muddled through this half-heartedly. Blaming those who tried to help is hardly fair.
I may not be very smart, but what if I am?

Who said that you have to keep the PM private? There is no rule that says that. Unless someone says "hey please keep this a secret" i dont feel obligated at all to keep something private.
The OP started a fire by saying "hey guys is it normal for a breeder to do this?" It was something that was DEFINITELY not a normal thing for a breeder to do. So everyone here of course wanted to know who it was so that way they could choose to or choose not to do business with them in the future. If it was as bad as the OP made it seem then i would have not (and some other people too) purchased anything from Garrick in the future.

The truth about this situation...
Hey everyone. I don't generally have a lot of time to spend on forums (too many snakes to take care of!), so I had no idea this thread was going on until another user alerted me to it last night. I wasn't able to activate my account so I couldn't respond until now. So here is what happened:
The customer purchased a group of snakes and wanted me to ship them out. There was really bad weather- tornadoes, thunderstorms and extremely high winds coming through the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic part of the US. Fed Ex's sorting facility is in Memphis, TN, right in the middle of where the storms were coming. Also, I am shipping out of WI where I have to deal with bad Winter shipping conditions all the time. I've learned to know when to ship and when not to over the past 15 years. I shipped 32 boxes the day before and didn't lose anything. In fact, my survival rate over the past decade has been about 99.9%, because I am very careful of when I ship. I did not think it was a good idea to ship on the day the customer wanted me to send his order out. I told him repeatedly that it wouldn't be safe and he insisted that I shipped. I told him I wouldn't guarantee live delivery if he insisted that I shipped and he said to go ahead and everything would be fine. That was the only shipment I sent out that day. I had 8 or 9 others I was supposed to ship, but I told the customers it wasn't a good idea and they all were ok with waiting. I packed his box with 2 30hr heat packs and 1 40 hour pack, just like I do all of my shipments at this time of year. The shipment would have been fine if it would have been delivered on schedule. It was guaranteed by 10:30AM and wasn't delivered until 1:58PM so there absolutely was a delay. Temps may have been around 60 locally where it was delivered, but it was in the 20s and 30s during most of the transit time. It is hard to say where the box was sitting during the delay. It may have been outside waiting for a plane to arrive. I have no way of knowing, but it must have been stranded in cold weather for an extended period of time. The bottom line is I told him it wasn't safe to ship and he insisted. I told him if I shipped, I wouldn't guarantee live delivery and he still wanted me to ship. When he received the box and found the dead mystic, he emailed me to let me know, but never once asked me to replace it or even asked for action of any kind. I told him to let the snake warm up gradually and it may come around. He emailed me several hours later to tell me it didn't work. That was pretty much the end of it until this week when he said he wanted more snakes. I gave him a price quote that included a discount large enough to completely cover the mystic and I also offered him another male mystic for less than half price. I feel like that is pretty generous considering the situation. His partner placed the order and I will ship when I feel it is safe. I do have emails to back up everything I've said. I don't know what else I could have done, other than simply refused to ship and have the customer get really mad at me, possibly canceling the order altogether. This should be a lesson to everyone to have patience, and if a breeder thinks they should wait to ship, understand he/she is doing that so situations like this are avoided. I feel horrible that the snake died in shipment. I try my best to make sure it doesn't happen and I've been very fortunate over the years to have an extremely high survival rate. I hope this clears everything up.

Thanks. Now, if you could just dot one more I and cross one more T by posting his emails telling you to ship and you telling him you'd rather not, then I think all will be perfectly clear.
