Just rejoined the 24/7 gym. I was doing so well, then I was carless for a bit and kinda gave up.

Dropping 100lbs would be awesome >_> I'm chubbeh.

My issue is eating. >_> I take medication and generally don't get "hungry" till about 3pm.

Started up myfitnesspal app and gonna start again. I have no problem loosing weight, but I have problems with my eating :p

If you actually use the app, and write down EVERYTHING you eat, it will help

I used it to track my exercise and eating, and lost 20lbs in a month

    Re: Weight Loss - Updates?

Keep it up with your weight loss goals everyone! I used to be 300lbs of lard and completely transformed myself into 200lbs of mostly lean mass with about 11% bf. Nothing feels better than dropping the excess baggage and getting into good physical shape! Good luck to everyone on their weight loss journey and stay strong!

    Like Jeff said...

keep at it. It isn't easy at first but once you get into the routine, it becomes just that...a part of your routine. When I retired from the Army, I said I didn't want to exercise like that any more. My back hurt all the time, I got migraines almost every day, my cholesterol was bad, and my joints ached constantly. Basically all of body ailments from 20 years of being an Infantry Soldier in the Army got a lot worse. I decided to make a change back in April and have lost 45lbs since and have been keeping it off with very little effort now that I got into my routine. Here are my before and afters (I posted these in the "Male snake keepers" forum also):

    Before (218lbs):

After (185lbs when this pic was taken but I am now down to 179):

My goal was to slim down first and get rid of the weight. Now I am reworking my body and trying to add some muscle mass. I'm not trying to get huge just want to get more defined. My joints don't hurt, I am off of my cholesterol meds, and I hardly ever get migraines any more. I don't know that the migraines will EVER go away completely because I actually get disability for them but they are definitely less frequent.

Just keep at it and you can get there. When you feel like having a snack, reach for an apple instead of a chip. I had to actually get all of those snack foods out of the house so I wouldn't be temped.

Thanks Jeff, you as well. You don't even look like the same dude. I was really really really really lazy and my doc said that I needed to get down to 180 and I laughed at him. So I promise that if I can do it so can others. Someone told me once that it takes two weeks to make a habit so if you get the routine going it will stick. Also understand that there will be ups and downs but I used those as learning curves, they helped me figure out what works best for me. I use Saturdays as my "cheat" days but I don't go overboard.

I would like to commend those that put before and afters on here because I know it can be pretty embarrassing to show that stuff but you all have done great work either losing weight or taking that first step towards it. Keep it up!!!!

Thanks man! It's pretty remarkable how much your entire image changes with the addition or subtraction of extra fat, lol.

And what you say is true; anyone can do it!

To add a little piece of advice from my experience for those just starting their journey - try not to subscribe to one diet or routine or method of weight loss. Your body is unique and it will take practice before you find the exact right method for your own personal weight loss. And just to reiterate what RetiredJedi said, don't let your plateaus diminish your motivation! Doing the same routine for too long causes everyone to hit a stale-mate. Use those plateaus as experimental times to up your cardio, or cut out/add more of a certain macro-nutrient, or what ever you decide might help you break through so you can continue working towards your ultimate goal.

Also yes, good job to all the previous posters!
