From what I have read of Trades, it is typical for both parties to send their animals out at similar times, so that each party has a tracking number and it limits the problems for scamming (not by much, but it's a quicker reassurance).
So here are my concerns, as an outside perspective:
What were the agreements on the timeline for the trades? What did you and the OP agree to for this exchange? Were you both to send out animals at the same time? I ask, because it seems odd that you would not send out your animals as your half of the trade. Perhaps the OP can let us know what the agreement was.
I don't know. I'm just not feeling why you want to return the animal, especially after you didn't even send out yours yet. It just kind of comes across as: "I'm going to wait and see this animal in person, then decide." I imagine that's just my prespective and perhaps I'm completely out of line.
Did you contact the snakes owner about the vet visit? Do you have photographs of why you felt you needed to take it into the vet?
If the vet also told you this was normal, why did it scare you so much about this animal? If I were unsure of a vets diagnosis, then I'd definitely come here with some photos and get feedback from people here with more experience.
Wish I could be more helpful here. It's definitely not an easy situation, especially with people like myself posting about it, haha.
Either way, even if you guys don't post here, PLEASE communicate with each other. Even if a transaction doesn't work out, I hope all the snakes are alright.
Its is common practice to ship at the same time. Sometimes people are affriad of getting a raw deal and decide that one person should ship first, then when that animal arrives the other ships promptly.
If there is a believed issue with an animal, the sender needs to be notified first and foremost. Taking the animal to the vet is something that will be discussed between both parties so there is no guessing going on.
