I felt horrible about that. To answer some questions the snakes were supposed to be shipped the same day. The guy told us that he wasn't home and his wife was supposed to ship the snakes. We later that day got a text saying when he got home his wife didn't send the snakes because the box he had for them she had used and he didn't know. Then he received our pastel and told us she was bleeding from her vent and had shed in the box. The next day he said he took her to the vet and said the vet said that it wasn't anything to worry about. He told us that he was worried about her breeding in the future. My boyfriend told him it was ok if he didn't want to trade and just send her back. He said he would and that he was just going to use the box we sent her in because it was packed good. Im not trying to start anything but somewhere the information is changing and i don't understand why.

This whole thing is a bit confusing? Was the bleeding just a little from the vent after the shed? If so that is perfectly normal, so why would you send it back?

Or is the the bigger issue here that folks are calling out on the het issue?

Either way, as long as the OP gets his snake back, not much harm is done (he did lose the shipping money). But the confusion will not help the reputation of the one sending the snake back. Rep is everything in this hobby/business.

Sorry, but if you were supposed to shipped within the next day, the fact that you didn't is a major red flag. I don't have the ground to stand on to say you're lying about the phone part, but a lot of people won't just take your word for it.
Another red flag is that you're sending her back, if she was in good condition there wouldn't be a need for that.
Perhaps you never had the granite to trade in the first place?

I am not saying you did this, but I'm saying they're questions that could easily pop up in one's mind and everyone's concern was far from unreasonable.

Ok guys think what you want, y'all can bust my balls all day. I've done what I think is right, including adding the het albino free of charge to go along with the pastel. As soon as the problem was address i took care of it. I've done the best I can to make it right and am Hoping for the best. And yes I have the granite which I'm keeping. I thought reptiles owners were some of the most understanding people out there, Ive already spoke with Cbconstrictors and it's all settled. I'm sending her back because I was nervous ! And I got a big 1600gram female pastel about a week or 2 ago so I no longer need to raise up the juvie. I now have 3 female pastels and I dont need to add another head to feed. Here She is

Sounds like this should be a typical craigslist deal. Don't have someone ship their snake to you if "you dont need another head to feed"

Ok well obviously I agreed to the deal before I got the big pastel girl. My rats are breeding but not at the pace I expected.

Nobody is busting your balls. We just want the truth. This industry has a lot of people doing shady things and we feel an obligation to look out for our fellow herpers and expose the wrong doers. Its not a personal attack on you. You have just many things that don't ad up or made false claims from the beginning...

Re: trade went bad any advice

I would advise Mrl249 to ignore the any further questions from the peanut gallery. You will NEVER make them happy. This kinda stuff here and on fauna just makes me nuts. People chiming in all half cocked. If you had concerns you should have sent RIGHT back. That time has passed - now just make it right.

To the original poster - If you don't have your snake back in the next couple days I would take legal action. Getting on here and talking about it is just peeing in the wind.

Thank you highline and Zombie. I just don't want my reputation ruined over some big mistake. I know there are shady people in the industry and I sincerely do not wish to soil my name or my animals during my very first year, that's why I want to make it right. I take excellent precautions to make sure my snakes are 100% healthy and there is never a dirty tub. It is something i pride myself on. I usually clean as soon as I get off work and as soon as we wake up. I consider you people my friends and I don't want to loose that. I've done my best to make it right and the only thing I can do is ask for forgiveness and continue on. And trust me, he will get his snake by 10:30 am tomorrow. Thanks
