    Re: Who is a reader?

GEORGE R.R. MARTIN is amazing... I started the series A song of ice and fire end of May and I'm half way through the third book in the series. They are lengthy books (1st book 800+ pages 2nd book 900+ pages and 3rd book 1000+ pages) but I can't put the son of a B's down... Yesterday I started reading at 5 p.m. looked at my clock and it was 10:30 haha I recommend these books to anyone... I even got my 80 year old Grandma to start them up! He take's forever to write them but they are well worth the wait, i'm glad he takes his time cause they are amazing books.

For light romance reading, I'm really enjoying Robyn Carr's Virgin River series.

My favorite book EVER is The Promise, by Donna Boyd (it's a werewolf story).

The Ten Little Bloodhound series by Virginia Lanier are also very good (it's an older series).

I also like James Patterson, Jonathan Kellerman, Faye Kellerman (his wife), Harlan Coben, Dean Koontz, Robin Cook to name a few.

If you have a Kindle - I highly recommend this book - Robin: Lady of Legend (The Classic Adventures of the Girl Who Became Robin Hood)
Nope, no kindle. Just good old fashion page turning. Is it only available on kindle?

Yes, unfortunately that one is. It's an Indie writer, but the book is very good. Loaned it to my mother after I read it, and she couldn't put it down. You can get a free Kindle reader for your PC though, and get it that way!

I'm not much of a reader, however the wife is and she just finished the 50 Shades books (all 3). Those books make for a HAPPY WIFE & LIFE!!!! I asked her when more of those books were coming out.

I'm a voracious bookworm, and have been since I was in grade school. Primarily in the fantasy, horror, and science fiction genres.

Fantasy: Charles de Lint is awesome. I enjoy Mercedes Lackey.

Science Fiction: Alan Dean Foster, and James White

    Science Fantasy: Anne McCaffrey

Dark Fantasy: Chelsea Quinn Yarbro, PN Elrod, Kim Harrison, Tanya Huff (the list goes on, I love this genre)

Animal Fantasy: A Rustle in the Grass, The Book of Night With Moon, The Heavenly Horse from the Outermost West, Watership Down, Tailchaser's Song, The White Bone

    Horror: Clive Barker, Michael McDowell

I could go on...and on.... lol

Lord of the Rings books are wayyyyy better than Harry Potter imo!
We agree on that. Tolkien was a master of the craft of writing. While Harry Potter is good in that it has gotten kids (and adults) to read who otherwise wouldn't, it's really not my cup of tea (or coffee, or beer, or <insert beverage here>). The same could be said of The Hunger Games. Tolkien isn't for everyone, though, as his style doesn't make for "light reading." That said, if you're willing to put in the effort, his books will reward you for it.

Oh, and if classic sci-fi is what you're after, you really can't go wrong with Heinlein. Also, Orson Scott Card's "Ender" novels are phenomenal.

Mountain bikes are for slow people, and reptiles are far better pets than cats & dogs!

I read all kinds of stuff. As long as its a good book, why not? So what kind of book I read varies.
