Re: Can Anyone Tell Me What This Is?
I want to say solomon island ground boa, but I'm no expert.
-
-
Hmm aren't Salomons little bit brighter?? Looks more like Halmahera Island but I'm not expert so I can be wrong...

My guess (with near certainty) would be Candoia carinata paulsoni or Solomon Island Ground Boa. Interestingly, both rough scaled boas and viper boas are also sub-species of Candoia.
Solomons are dark like that when they are young and tend to get lighter/brighter as they grow. Very nice baby there - yours or planning to be yours?? Bioteacher here works with several of the Candoia species but I can't for the life of me find his website.
Here's another that gives some good info regarding them but not many pics... www.kingsnake.com/groundboa
This one is decent too... http://candoia.ca/

Lucky you!
It is a Solomon Island Ground Boa - C. paulsoni. Figuring out sex is easy - spurs = male; no spurs = female Figuring out locality is a whole other story. The best guess would be Halmahera... which can/will lighten and darken throughout the day.
Here is some info on them from my site: http://nyexotics.blogspot.com/2012/0...husbandry.html
By chance, anymore where you're getting it from?
