Spending the night killing mites!!!

Just a question: Even if my BP is mite-free now & not exposed to any other living creatures except my husband & I, can he still get mites?
From what I've read on these forums, it's something I never want to deal with.

Theoretically, you can still bring them home, but if you follow a few basic cleanliness procedures it's seldom an issue. At least a couple time a month I see someone bring in a snake with mites, or help someone treat them, and I have never *knock on wood* brought them home to my snakes.

I personally feel an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure; just pick up a bottle of provent a mite, and about twice a year, treat your bedding.

Also, here's a link to an article written by one of our most experienced staff members on how to kill mites. As much as they suck, they are not the end of the world, and these are the instructions I've been giving to customers for years with a lot of success.
Take or leave it, but this is the technique I've seen the most people have the most success with.

Ok now so how did I get the mites? I picked up a baby normal from pet co last week. Which like drinking milk on a hot day was a bad choice. But hey whatever it's not the animals fault so I showed him the same love I did my ghost and got all the little boogers off him. So the moral of the story is I must really love these snakes to still be up doing this.

The moral of the story is practice strict quarantine on new animals so issues like this don't spread, and always pretreat new animals' enclosures for mites.

Yup never had a problem before, but after this guess it's a good idea.
I actually haven't seen any mites since I been bathing them and doing a complete wash of their tubs and tanks. I also did the flea powder thing that was suggested. The PAM is just the final good bye to these little devils.
