There is alot of buzz going on about a newer one that is out there called Gonzo tuning. If I didnt have APR already, I would be highly interested in them.
I don't spend a lot of time on vwvortex, mainly because I found audiforums.com and audizine first, and figured I didn't really need a third forum on my car.

Regarding Gonzo, I looked them up after reading your post, and I have to say that their website is pretty darn vague as far as what kind of gains you can expect, plus it only really lists tuning for VW MKIV cars, (specifically under their "tuning" menu, where they list zero details about any of the tuning options, at least as far as I could tell). Yes, the engine in my Audi is *mostly* the same, but there are some differences between the transverse and longitudinal versions, and APR is a well-established name in the market, so absent further information, I'm still more likely to be interested in APR than Gonzo.

Yea I know they are mainly Vw right now, but from what I have gathered on them, they will be branching out, and they supposedly have really good customer service. Just because one company is mainstream and out there does not mean they are the best. However, I do understand your point on their site being pretty vague. But I dont think that it would hurt to shoot them a email and see if they offer anything. But I believe they do tuning for the 1.8t longitudinal for the passat which would be the same engine as yours. I dont know if the engine codes pass between the two though. Since I have a transverse I havent really done any research on what will cross between the A4 and the passat 1.8t. Do you plan on doing any turbo upgrades?

I was able to do a 10.1 at track but father hit 9.89 and 154mph with the 514 after the gears were redone. The car was still a stick since no money for newer tranny.
I was just going by the sound of it. It doesnt take big numbers to make a fast car. Both of these guys are local, and both are chebby powered. The coupe is LSX powered and about 150+ hp less then your claim. Nice car all and all

that mustang in video is how mine was at Grand Bend in canada. Once the Slicks were put on the car would lift taking off. But we never ran NOS in our engines to keep is all natural pure muscle.

We did tub out the rear and added some nice hoosier slicks. If i still had the car, wish i could of gotten a video doing runs at track. Its a old video you see form 2009. Once the 514 was tunes, bored out, and other goodies, she was awesome. Had a lot invested. Last mod we put was 10pt roll cage inside since cars at the track were required to have it when under 10secs.

Re: any other gearheads out there?

The Camaro on top is smoking, the stang is aight, not a big fan of the new Challengers. For some reason I'm not a big fan of any of the new "muscle" cars. I'd take a 69' Camaro over a 2011, a 66'-69' stang over the new ones and the same with the chargers and challengers. I guess the same with the new and old GTO's,

Oh sure, goes without saying... the two generations are in entirely separate leagues.
I do however love the "pro-touring" look, regardless of generation (on the right car)... pure sex!

My understanding is that most things cross over between the Passat and the A4. Perhaps by the time I'm ready to do anything about it, Gonzo will have both wider experience and more useful info available - I'll at least try to keep them in mind when/if I have the spare money.

As far as turbo upgrades go, there are plans and there are plans. I'd love to go big turbo (GT2871r, GT3076r, you get the idea), but that costs big money, and unless some major things change in my life, that's not happening. With that kind of cash, I'm more likely to try to save up for the Porsche I've always wanted ('95-98 911) instead.

Pics as promised after oil changes and detailing My 1G and my pops 2G ACR (American Club Racing). Mine was previously pushing 350whp turbo charged 2.4L but that motor/turbo/drivetrain was yanked and sold. I'm back to a rebuilt stocker with some bolt ons. New system is mostly purchased but totally unassembled and I'm aiming for 500hp on the new 2.4L and turbo build. My dad's car has the 2.0 SOHC Magnum, a hot cam, custom pcm, CAI, exhaust, and a very nice stock suspension with Dynamic adjustable struts and aftermarket springs. ACR have a long history of destroying SCCA They were basically a showroom stock club racer.

A "we survived lots of rollovers" pic from my brothers old 1G...

So...here's my baby...haven't been able to touch the motor yet but soon....

Doesn't make me a gear head but I've helped sand buff paint a RHD 93 supra that was imported from Japan. Here's the finished product..

Also helped with a few motor swaps in civics and tegs. Love working on them with the bf tho. Here's a few pics from over the years...
