heres Marleys(normal bp) first set up
its quite a complicated little 20gallon,theres so many hiding spots and crevices for her to be "sneaky".one of the hot hides has a piece of slate rock directly on top of glass where a heating pad is(ive monitored the warmth of the rock and it doesnt get thermal burn hot).humid hide with bridge and moss on top, hollow bonzai tree, a coconut hide, half log,two terra cotta pots.i cant wait she gets bigger so i can pimp her big enclosure out.shes only 20" right now.

bplover and pp its not ignorant. i think only breeders that have like a thousand snakes can get away with the minimalist approach if you have a couple of pets spoil em.i live where it gets hot too but dont reptiles need a heat gradient???that tub is just a big warm hiding spot.too me it is animal abuse.such a boring existance with nothing to explore its like throwing you in a white room with nothing in it except for a tub of water.im not trying to fight or call names just sharing my opinion you each are entitled to your own but please keep name calling to yourselves.my bp is healthy eats whatever i put in front of her and never shows aggression.sometimes she fights me to stay outside with me even though her enclosure is a pimped out lil setup.im still disgusted and it shouldnt matter to you because your happy and so is our pets.

hahaha my bp chose her hides.she wouldnt use certain ones.they were all about the same size but i guess the textures or something made her just hang outside of em in the fake plants.picky asssssnake.
ps.phobia i apologize i shouldve asked before i scolded i just assumed the worst cause alot of people take crap care of their animals.i just took in a cichlid that shouldve been dead in his algae,ph,ammonia, nitrite mess of a no filter 10 gallon tank.

As far as hides go, I too have a BP that is in a rack system and does not like or have a hide. The rack system itself provides ample security for her on three sides. Not having a hide does not mean that he does not provide his BP a secure enclosure (such as a rack). As was stated, if psychophobia snake is eating, cared for and healthy, why attack him/her for their husbandry? I have been a member here for over two years now, have went from one to 15 BPs and still accept criticism when warranted as I am also still learning everyday. I don't try to criticize others and I expect criticism I receive to be constructive and not just accusations and opinionated. You would have been better served to have thought out what you wanted to say and then word it better to avoid sounding so irrational. I am not attacking you here either, just giving some friendly advice
i agree and i already apologized for shooting first and asking later. it was opinionated cause tubs just look so sad to me.reminds me of when my dog bit a mean old lady and he had to stay in doggie jail for like 3days for vaccinations and such.

A sideways tank.
Your post did come off quite abrasive. Every keeper has different set ups and diligent keepers make good ones where the animal is feeding and house well. With out all the facts (like what challenges each keeper faces everyones are different) tact is required. If it isn't to your taste that is fine but it is your taste not his.
Very few people have true gradients anyway, most have a hot spot and cool spot with almost instant shift between them. I personally have 2 enclosures of 8 that have real gradients the rest just have hot/cold spots. Not everyone agrees with my approach but no one whom has had dealings with me can claim I am not diligent in my methods.
