Since you will be using a stand alone tub, I suggest setting it up just like a tank. 2 hides, water bowl, maybe a small piece of wood or something to rub on.
For the UTH, I use a 10" X 11" on my 32qt tub. It should cover at least 1/3 but not more than 1/2 of the floor space. I would suggest thinking about what size of snake you want to get, whether it be a juvenile or a yearling. Go to Wal-Mart and look at the tubs. when you find the one that you are going to need, measure the bottom of it, and that will make it easier to decide what size UTH you should get. If you get a tub with the locking handles, you won't necessarily need straps to hold it down, but you will need some binder clips to keep the tub and lid pinched together. If you get a tub with just a snap-on lid, then you will definitely need some straps, as well as, binder clips to keep the lid down.

Here is how I have the inside of my tubs set up. This is the 32 quart tub...

Thank you so much . I love how your tub is set up btw One more thing - will I need 2 UTHs or will one be ok? I'm going to get the 10 x 11 as well.
