    Re: New all WHITE ASF!!

Bug eyes in small rodents sometimes means they are dehydrated...try watering them up and the eyes will sink back in.

Hopefully I'll get some white ones, not sure how it will work. We were talking about them and basically he kept breeding high with pieds till he got these guys.

I like the solid colors too. Basically I bred gremlin to gremlin and got some solids. It takes a while to get them but its easy to do.

He had a few girls too but like you I want to cut back. Only have 3 colonies now.

Replied to your PM and sent his #. I will talk to him at the next show too. Hopefully get some more info. on them. Like I mentioned above, he got them by selectively breeding high white pieds so maybe you can make some too .

Those things are so cute and terrifying. I've heard too much about how bite-y they are and look on them with fear.

They aren't that bad, lol. It depends on the blood line. My ASFs are really calm and aren't the least bit aggressive. I can grab them by the body, play with the babies and the mothers just look at me. I keep an eye out for the "squinty" face that indicates a nip coming up though. Just in case they are in a bad mood. I've been bitten once and I was holding a hide with my finger in the doorway and underneath was a mom and babies. It wasn't a very nasty bite, more like "hey, get outta here". If you are interested, shop around, you may find someone with a calm group. BUT I wouldn't really recommend them as a pet per-say.

OOOOHHH, I want a pair of those!

I'm working on all blacks and all blondes right now. I have that albino looking thing with the red eyes (can't remember what y'all call them) consistently giving same color but my blacks still give out multi-colored ones and only a very few all black.

    That's the truth!

Beautiful soft fur. Reminds me that I need to get cracking on my high white project with them.

Did he say how long he's been working with it? How long it took him to get to that stage?
