Re: So I have stepped up and working on a DYI rack

So what if I took flexible pvc ( aka shower liner) 40mm thick and used that as my top of my tops of my tubs.. ( sliding in and out tubs)

Meaning get a 1/4 thick piece of wood or what ever and wrap it with the flixble pvc.

Just curious what you think about that..

im assuming the pvc would simply be for "laminating" or covering the wood to prevent rubbing, mold ect. and make it easier to clean? i guess that would work. might not look too attractive unless done right. the whiteboard was my solution to this. sorry if i sound like a homedepot salesman lol

Well on these racks the tops of them need some kind of hard surface for the tubs.

So i figured I had a bunch of flexable pvc laying around my shop that I could use..

I figured if I would wrap the wood with pvc ( glue it down or staple gun it down) It would prevent expansion of the wood.. I would be very easy to clean/water resistant. You would be able to pull it very tight. It wouldnt look too sloppy.

The picture above is from a job I did a couple days ago. This isnt what it would look like.. Just an example of what it is..
