It was an absolute outing of lil petey though, difficult though that was for some to see. That's on me.

I wonder if lil petey's unnamed poacher friend is also trafficking in other Ca. Native Herps. I know there are a lot of people who do and it just seems far beyond the pale for me to think that this yahoo pal of out little friends is a first time poacher. It's my thinking that this is a long time relationship, after all it takes more that a couple of weeks to become someones good friend, doesn't it? So, lil petey must know about this guys habits, poaching native reptiles, heck I would not be surprised at all if our tiny friend has poached with this NorCal Yahoo.

Still though, it's not cool that lil petey has known, if he has which I for one firmly believe he did, that this guy was a poacher and not only didn't do anything about it, but purchased animals illegally from him.

I wonder how many other poachers lil petey has done business with. I wonder how many he knows period. That's not the crowd I want to encourage to be here at all.

Second, stop layin' down the law like you're some kind of perfect law-abiding citizen, haven't you ever got a parking ticket, ran a red light or done a rolling stop?

The problem with this statement is when someone breaks a traffic law, they're putting their own drivers license at stake, and no one else's. When someone breaks a herp law, they're putting everyones hobby at stake.

Doc, I don't know anyone on Fish and Game up there, but I will be talking to some folks in the herp society he claims to have gotten advice from. There are only 4 members, so it won't be difficult to find out who knows our tiny friend.

He's a lair though. He said he reported himself when he shipped the rattlesnake by USPS across statelines and no one had heard of him until some folks did some checking.

I would not be surprised if no call was made.

If no lessons are learned it certainly does and there certainly isn't. Fact of life I'm afraid. You might want to find the common factors between the two events and work at eliminating it. I'll give you a clue it was you being involved in breaking something.

There are a lot of vets around here that hide behind their little computers arguing about what's right and wrong (in their own mind).

Actually we were more focusing on what the law is on the statute books.

Oh come on! A single glance to the left under your username shows everyone you have a whole 2 infraction points. Stop trying to play the victim and paint the staff as the bad guys for making you unfairly have to follow the same rules as everyone else.

And lastly, but most importantly - just be more supportive than you are critical. It's a learning process here!

We do try on the whole. But when people prove learning resistant it gets very frustrating
