Again, why are you so damn picky today?

I'm always picky when it comes to genetics, because it's the least understood aspect of the hobby, and the one area where bad advice is given constantly.

If this conversation were about how to ensure proper temperature, and someone recommended the little analog dial gauges, they would be jumped from all sides in a heartbeat. Giving equally credible advice about breeding prospects however, is apparently welcome.
