Will it workout longterm?
Hello, everyone!
Just a fussy thought that's been eating away at me for the past few days:
I have my BP in a glass tank set-up. Tried setting up a tub for her, but that failed bc my temps (especially ambients) were always too low. I know glass tanks aren't ideal, believe me, I've run into every problem in the book trying to get mine as it is now. My BP is doing well. I've said this many times before, mostly as a reminder to myself. She eats, she poops, she sheds, but I worry whatever i have now isn't "a good longterm solution".
What has me the most concerned is the humidity. I live in a very humid city. My house humidity is 50% (will drop in winter, along with temps). I use a ZooMed ReptiFogger set low, on 24/7, along with foil wrap covering half of the top screen, which keeps the humidity at a comfortable ~60%. I've tried just about every trick there is when it comes to humidity, but everything either skyrockets my tank to 90, severely minimizes healthy airflow, or doesn't do anything at all.
So far, having a fogger/humidifier and heat lamps in a glass tank works best for me. From a technical standpoint, does this sound like a bad way to keep a BP? Will having the fogger on like this be unhealthy in the long-run? Should I just give the tub project another go?
