I was stationed in North Carolina while in the Marine Corps and remember the winters were never bad there. Spent some time in Mississippi, West Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and Southern Cali too, although only a few weeks at a time in those places. Definitely a fan of the warmer weather.

Me too !!

My dream is to eventually live somewhere where it is warm without high humidity. And sweeping, wide open views.
I'm not a big fan of dense forest or feeling closed in.

I'll take somewhat barren mountains over that !! As long as I get the wide open spaces, big blue sky, and warm dry weather Of course some green would be nice, too, but no dark forests or no views.

Well, one can dream
