I just love open spaces. There can be mountains, but not densely forested. I lived in El Paso for a short time. The city is nothing to write home about, that is for sure, but when you got up into those mountains and looked all around, wow. So much blue sky, it was almost overwhelming.

A drier climate will make it more difficult to keep the humidity up for the animals, but it can be done. I don't even mind the humidity here most of the year, but the summers are miserable.
No way! I was stationed at Ft. Bliss in El Paso when I was in the Marine Corps. I was an instructor at the Marine Corps Stinger Missile School. I got my red tails when I was out there.

Yes, the city was nothing special. I agree about that. Did you ever get out to Elephant Butte? It’s a state park/ reservoir near Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. Always loved the name of that town. Lol

Lots of beautiful places around the country that I’d like to explore (some only at certain times of the year)... One day... when I hit the lottery and am not working around the clock.
