The roommates were kind enough to give her a roof over her head and went from no snake to 1 snake, that's more than generous.

It would not be wise to sneak something in. There was just a recent post of a kid who snuck a snake in to his parents house, in which he lived, and we all know how what his consequences were. The thing is these people are not her parents so the consequences could be more extreme such as being kicked out. Even if they shared a lease and she snuck another snake in the roommates could leave and she would have to pay all the bills and if she couldn't then she could be kicked out by the landlord. In either situation it would not if be wise to go behind someone's back.

Advice for the OP is since you received the snake for free you could find a breeder or a rescue and give it to them and you won't be out any money. If you bought extra supplies for this one they can be either used for the carpet python or as back up. It's always good to have back up!

Other then that this thread has taken a turn for the worse and there isn't much else that can be said.

I would agree with this. Having them own the house is entirely different scenario but also the kid posting is a different scenario because he is a dependent. I apologize for getting off topic with a hypothetical but I still stand by what I said. In this case you should try to pass on the new snake to a fit owner asap so you can get the carpet
