Injected snake , stabbed my own thumb afterwards when she start flailing about
Didn't get any Baytril in me but 'interior snake germs' had to be on the needle.
What's the worst that could happen?
I washed my hands and used sanitizer but the stab spot really smarts.
[and the big rip tagged me when I took her out of her tub thinking it was feeding time]
The "bite" was totally a non-event and already forgotten.
What a gloriously horrible week it's been.

I doubt that you have anything to worry about. I would keep an eye out for signs of infection local to the "injection" site, but apart from that I don't think that you are at much more risk than you would be from simply handling the sick snake.
and I too agree, this week has really sucked...

Seriously sucked.
Maximum suckitude.
So much consummate, spectacular suckiness that this week could easily devour a black hole, entire.
The Big Suck Theory.
On the bright side;
My two 4 month hunger strike little twerps finally decided that they were, indeed, snakes and miraculously remembered the complex mechanics of eating a frigging mouse.
Hallelujah, world without end.
:omg:

You should be fine dude but i would defiinetly keep an eye on it in case it gets infected. If on the off chance it goes then its gunna be fun explaining to your doctor what happened lol
-
Wash it good and keep an eye on it. If it starts to swell soak it in warm sea salt, that will draw the infection out.
I got stabbed in the thumb by a Vet that was trying to Euthinize a cat, I was 6 months pregnant, thankfully the syringe was still full, it was not enough to harm a human, just a 6 lb cat. So that was fun! I never had an infection or anything bad happen.
-
I did that once but it was with Fortaz. Nothing happened and I'm still here and alive!
-
Giving shots to snakes is definitely not the funnest part of snake keeping, that's for sure.

He knows I have snakes and thinks they're the coolest thing, ever.
He wouldn't even bat an eye.
It feels and looks fine, now.
Probably just part of my "Eewwww! Anywhere but my fingers!!" injury hangup.
:D

We still torment our vet for accidentally vaccinating himself for Distemper whilst wrestling with an unwilling cat.

I'm an artist and have "this thing" about my fingers, especially my fingertips.
I'd rather take a punch in the nose than accidentally poke myself with a safety pin.
[which I just did while rooting through a junk drawer. Ouch!]
When I was in high school, my boyfriend's dad was the quality control inspector for the A-10 "Warthogs" at Fairchild.
He took us into the hangar to see one and was demonstrating 'quality control' by feeling the plane's 'skin' and pronouncing it 'flawless'.
About 20 seconds later, I'd felt it myself and found several lumps and bumps that weren't supposed to be there.
I just have really sensitive fingers.
[Thank goodness Norma tagged me on the knuckle or I'd have probably shrieked]
I'm hypoglycemic and my doc gave me one of those blood sugar test gizmos and you must poke your fingertip when testing for low blood sugar.
I used it three times and said forget this, I'll just snack on protein more often.
:D

I would be deeply concerned if I were you!:(Syphilis, Gonorrhea, Herpes and Asnephatonalitis all originally derived from "interior snake germs"!! I would be on the look out for live threatening symptoms such as: coughing, sneezing, watering eyes, runny nose and laughing.

Women are different.
[or at least I am]
Nothing short of my intestines trailing on the floor will get me to a hospital...and only then if I can't squish 'em back in and duct tape them until I heal.
:D
After Norma nailed me, I gave her the shot, put her back and washed my hands.
[didn't wash my blood off of her, though]
Thought to myself "Had a tetanus shot. Had the rabies vax. I'm good to go, I reckon."
I asked you guys mostly because of any possible salmonella issues.
I haven't had a shot for that.

The Big Suck Theory.
Just thought I'd share a section sent to me from an article in Real Simple Magazine:
"...we tend to think of creative people as churning out one work of genius after another, but brilliance is a numbers game. Creative people tend to be prolific, and usually the misfires far outnumber the hits. 'I recently went to a museum in Germany, and they had a Picasso exhibition,' says Jung. 'But the paintings were terrible. I think I saw every lousy Picasso out there. He created about 50,000 works, and not all of them were masterpieces.' It's a powerful lesson: Accept failure. Enjoy it, even. Embrace the suck, for the suck is part of the process."

You don't have to poke your fingers. You can get ones that you can poke your arm or the ball of fatty tissue beneath your thumb on the palm of your hand :) I'm diabetic and had to use these instead of fingertips when I was in hospital because my fingers were so overused there were no more spots to poke haha :)
-
I would watch for any scales that start to grow on your hand.
If you get more than 4 of them, see a doctor.
Or rather, a vet.

Oh, bless your heart.....:(
Fortunately *low* blood sugar isn't nearly as dangerous as high is and I've learned to watch for the symptoms of an impending crash.
While you have to inject insulin, I just have to eat a high protein snack.
Best of luck to you.

Scales on my hand, huh?
Okay.
[so I should just ignore the tiny little tail I'm growing, then?]
