Shouldn't it be:
12.5% Normal
25% Normal Het Pied
12.5% Spider
25% Spider Het Pied
12.5% Pied
12.5% Spied

That depends on if he meant "Male Normal 100% Het Pied" or not.

SHE meant 100% HET Pied.... thanks for the correction ;)

Considering that she doesn't know the statistics and wanted to post to findout probly means she's a noob to breeding. Like me :-)
And the post says female spider het x normal male het.
And because I too want to know as I'm sure OP would lik to know as well
What are th statistical influences of outcome with the spider het being female compared to if it was a male? Not highjacking the thread just asking for more details to help OP.

There is no difference
the OP's title Female SPIDER 100% Het Pied X Male Normal 100% Pied
implying she was breeding a spider het pied to a pied
it should read Spider Het Pied X Het Pied
OP, just so you know, if it is het pied, that means its 100%, there no reason to state the percentage, also if has any genetics, we normally don't call them normal hets, just call them hets.

The only thing I don't like about the Spider het Pied to Normal het Pied breeding is you will have no way of knowing if the Normals and Spiders that hatch are het for Pied. You wouldn't be able to tell them apart from the ones who didn't get the Pied allele.
If you are going to spend the money on a Spider het Pied I think the best way to go about the breeding to get a full male Pied to bred to her. That way you'd get:
25% Spied
25% Spider 100% het pied
25% Pied
25% het 100% Pied
-
The OP didn't say that the male was het, it said it was 100% pied...
Spider Het Pied x Pied
25% Het
25% Pied
25% Spider Het Pied
25% Spied
Spider Het Pied x Het Pied
12.5% Normal
25% Het Pied
12.5% Pied
12.5% Spider
12.5% Spied
25% Spider Het Pied

its like we are beating a dead horse lol

i know :( But i got a SMOKIN deal on a Spider Het Pied and Het Pied (how yall like that?? haha) i am hoping to produce at LEAST some sort of pied... be it spied or pied in my first clutch... if i dont, i will keep breeding til i get one or can afford a Pied to breed with my girl :) I am new to breeding so i dont have a TON of snake money... so when i find a smokin deasl, gotta take advantage :) both come with genetic paperwork and all. i dont plan on selling any of my babies from this clutch UNLESS they are normal males anyways... so we will just see what happens! Wish me luck!
In the meantime, keep your eyes open for any lingering male pieds :) hahahahaha

Re: Female SPIDER 100% Het Pied X Male Normal 100% Pied
It seems to me that breeding a Spider Het Pied female to a Het Pied male is a terrible waste of the female.
You are taking a $1000 female and pairing her with a $50 male (actual prices may vary but you get the idea).
You can pick up a low white pied male for a decent price and then double your odds of a Pied & Spied and have a better chance of selling the non-pied offspring since you know they are 100% hets.

If you are looking for a Pied male to bred to you Spider het Pied female you could probably wait to buy the male until next year, as females usually take about a year longer to mature.
For Piebalds I'd recommend Carl Gilmore of Suffolk Selects http://suffolkselects.com/
He has a really nice line of Piebalds and his prices are always fair. Here is a pic of a Pied I bought from him last year:

He came from a 11 egg clutch that one of Pied girls laid:O

Re: Female SPIDER 100% Het Pied X Male Normal 100% Pied
I have found a great website that helps with genetics questions concerning ball pythons. Its www.worldofballpythons.com/wizard/ So you can put your genetic traits into the male and female side and it will not only show you the percentages but also a P table and even a pick sometimes when you click on the link. This site has helped me a lot with genetics. plus its kinda fun to mix random ones together and see what morph you get.

Re: Female SPIDER 100% Het Pied X Male Normal 100% Pied
I hope you trust the guy you got her from. Sometimes when a deal is too good too be true it is because it is too good to be true. That is the thing about het to het breeding. The only way to produce Pied is if you hit the 1 in 4. So if her first clutch doesn't have any pied in it, the seller can say "just bad luck", try again next season.

i hear ya. I trust the guy. He is selling her to me at a discounted price due to a wobble. He is selling her with her genetics paperwork and all. I know a couple people who have purchased from the guy and have heard nothing but positive comments :) I do intend to go the Pied route and just making a male purchase next year :) It cant come fast enough!!

How do you figure the percentages out?
