    There is no difference

the OP's title Female SPIDER 100% Het Pied X Male Normal 100% Pied
implying she was breeding a spider het pied to a pied

it should read Spider Het Pied X Het Pied

OP, just so you know, if it is het pied, that means its 100%, there no reason to state the percentage, also if has any genetics, we normally don't call them normal hets, just call them hets.

And the post says female spider het x normal male het.

And because I too want to know as I'm sure OP would lik to know as well

What are th statistical influences of outcome with the spider het being female compared to if it was a male? Not highjacking the thread just asking for more details to help OP.

The only thing I don't like about the Spider het Pied to Normal het Pied breeding is you will have no way of knowing if the Normals and Spiders that hatch are het for Pied. You wouldn't be able to tell them apart from the ones who didn't get the Pied allele.

If you are going to spend the money on a Spider het Pied I think the best way to go about the breeding to get a full male Pied to bred to her. That way you'd get:
    25% Spied
    25% Spider 100% het pied
    25% Pied
    25% het 100% Pied

The OP didn't say that the male was het, it said it was 100% pied...

    Spider Het Pied x Pied
    25% Het
    25% Pied
    25% Spider Het Pied
    25% Spied

Spider Het Pied x Het Pied
    12.5% Normal
    25% Het Pied
    12.5% Pied
    12.5% Spider
    12.5% Spied
    25% Spider Het Pied

i know But i got a SMOKIN deal on a Spider Het Pied and Het Pied (how yall like that?? haha) i am hoping to produce at LEAST some sort of pied... be it spied or pied in my first clutch... if i dont, i will keep breeding til i get one or can afford a Pied to breed with my girl I am new to breeding so i dont have a TON of snake money... so when i find a smokin deasl, gotta take advantage both come with genetic paperwork and all. i dont plan on selling any of my babies from this clutch UNLESS they are normal males anyways... so we will just see what happens! Wish me luck!

In the meantime, keep your eyes open for any lingering male pieds hahahahaha

Re: Female SPIDER 100% Het Pied X Male Normal 100% Pied

It seems to me that breeding a Spider Het Pied female to a Het Pied male is a terrible waste of the female.

You are taking a $1000 female and pairing her with a $50 male (actual prices may vary but you get the idea).

You can pick up a low white pied male for a decent price and then double your odds of a Pied & Spied and have a better chance of selling the non-pied offspring since you know they are 100% hets.
