And I thought I was Immature...
Well, this is not a big deal really but anyway. I was walking home from a walk and these kids in a car threw water at me not a lot it was quite refreshing cause it was hot out and after they threw the water at me I chased there car but unfortunately the sun was glaring off the license plate number so I couldn't get it I started to walk back home and they stopped in the middle of an intersection and flipped me off and said some thing and they sped off so I didn't get a chance to do anything and thats the end of the story. Really if people have a problem why don't they grow some cojones and face me like a man. Its so irritating how immature some people are. >.>

    Btw I'm 15. >.>

People are just really crazy sometimes. I was at the dog park and the same car with the same two jerk guys slowly drove by over 6 times and flipped me the bird...it was really quite odd.

I used to commute to work on my bike, and one night on my way home, some less than pleasant people hit me with a water balloon. I *hope* it was just water. At least I know it wasn't blood or semen, but I really can't 100% rule out urine. Some people are just really awful.

Yea, thats just mean. These guys did it when is was like 88-90 degrees out and it wasn't allot of water. I'm like 90% sure it was water that was on me. You would smell it if it was pee.

I've had people throw trash at me while I was waiting for the bus. Steal my laptop while my girlfriend was distracting me. And honk at me to scare me.

The best things that have happened are when people stop and compliment me on walking around with a cigar.

Oh, and it's just group mentality. When you have a lot of kids out joyriding they will cause trouble. I had some chicks yell "Hey Sexy" at me tonight. It's just one of those things people do when they're out. I used to ride around with my friends, stop places, run out, and make fireballs on the side of the road/in parking lots with non-dairy creamer. We never messed with people but it really depends, I mean look at what happened to those college students who "role played" as prisoners/guards. Group mentality can really drive people to things they would never do on their own.

No - down here in the south, they fill them with bleach and throw them and blind some poor kid and get charged with several felony counts (actually happened here in metro Atlanta).

I've done drive by water balloonings of friends before. I can be pretty funny. It may not be the nicest thing to do to strangers I'll be honest. But it's just a little water and a rude hand gesture. Try to find the humor in it. By getting worked up you lose. But by seeing the joy in it you take there power away.

Ya and that is unfortunate, but in *my* personal experience, southern cities are more laid back than northern cities. thats just what I have noticed when visiting, and every city has a bad side, which sucks, but no place is perfect.

Not necessarily - I was sweating pretty seriously that night, and urine's scent can vary from very pungent to not much more than sweat - the two liquids are actually pretty similar from a chemical standpoint. All I know is that the liquid was warm and I didn't know for sure what it was, so I just got home as quickly as I could and then immediately got in the shower.

A few years back a 2 year old kid was killed by a water balloon thrown from a car here. Kid was standing outside and the balloon caught him in the side of the head at a good speed. People need to respect the consequences of what could happen when they think they are having fun.

Someone has also done the reverse to me. I was driving and they threw a water balloon at my car. It caught the hood right on the hood scoop. Well the hood scoop is plastic and the hood is aluminum and dents quite easily. 800 dollars later my car was fixed. I really don't see the humor in destroying what other people work hard for.

oo oo oo i got 2 for ya'll.
when i was 8 months pregnant with my daughter, ok im talkin' as big as a house! theres no way you cant tell i'm pregnant. ok so im sittin' out at a bus stop & a 50-ish looking' guy drove up, stopped, opened his passenger side door & stared lovingly at me & licked his lips for a good minute before asing me if i wanted a ride. talk about HOLY CRAP! i almost shot outta there like a bat outta hell.
wait can i say that here? sorry...
anyways, i swallowed the ball of terror in my throat, remained calm, shook my head & politely told him to keep on drivin'. he did.
THEN no more then a month goes by & im riding a bus home, still heavily pregnant with my daughter. i got off at my stop & some toothless old guy in his 60's, maybe 70's, gets off too. ok no big deal right?
im walkin' walkin' walkin', ignoring him.
then i realize he's actually following me.
now, i lived alone at that time & all kinds of horrifying visions of what's about to happen to me should i continue walking home with this guy tailing me pops into my head.
i was on the verge of tears. but again, i swallowed that ball of terror in my throat, closed my eyes for a second, took a deep breath, let it out slowly & turned around to face him.
    i said " can i help you?"
he said " i wanna walk you home."
i said " well, im sorry, but today's not your lucky day, buddy. i dont need an escort home. thank you though."
i continued to walk away from him & he paused, then caught up to me saying
" but i wanna walk you home."
i said " look if my boyfriend sees you following me he might kill you, he's crazy like that. please stop following me." & i made a turn onto a residential street away from my apartment complex. he thought about what i said & then turned around and walked back the way we'd came, back to the bus stop we'd gotten off at.
when he was gone i let out a 1/2 sob, 1/2 sigh of relief & walked to my apartment, shaking violently. that was the last time i went anywhere alone.
i've been mistaken for a prostitute numerous times & i wasnt even wearing anything provocative! cops have even stopped me, asking what i was doin', where i was goin' & all that.
    dang man!
i mean, am i really that attractive or somethin'?
i've actually seen some really nasty lookin' prostitutes, ok i'm talkin' you wont touch them with a 10 ft pole kinda nasty.
but yet here i am gettin picked on by cops & hit on & followed by raunchy old men.
    what gives?!

Wow, that must suck. Plus its illegal for the Cops just to stop you for no reason like that you have to be doing something illegal.

Look up the 4th Amendment. If a Cop does that ever again and you did nothing illegal I would ask him why I was being stopped and if he says some thing that is not illegal just walk away, don't let them take advantage of you. =p

I get stopped by the cops all the time when wandering around at 3am in the morning. And the Fourth Amendment has nothing to do with them stopping you to talk, it has to do with search and seizure. They are entirely within their rights to stop you to talk to you, especially if they think you're suspicious. Not responding to them could, likely, lead to a lot more trouble than it's worth.

    From wikipedia:
    Quote:

Under Terry v. Ohio 392 U.S. 1 (1968), law enforcement officers are permitted to conduct a limited warrantless search on a level of suspicion less than probable cause under certain circumstances. In Terry, the Supreme Court ruled that when a police officer witnesses "unusual conduct" that leads that officer to reasonably believe "that criminal activity may be afoot", that the suspicious person has a weapon and that the person is presently dangerous to the officer or others, the officer may conduct a "pat-down search" (or "frisk") to determine whether the person is carrying a weapon. To conduct a frisk, officers must be able to point to specific and articulatory facts which, taken together with rational inferences from those facts, reasonably warrant their actions. A vague hunch will not do. Such a search must be temporary and questioning must be limited to the purpose of the stop (i.e., officers who stop a person because they have reasonable suspicion to believe that the person was driving a stolen car, cannot, after confirming that it is not stolen, compel the person to answer questions about anything else, such as the possession of contraband)
Also there are laws against vagrancy and as such if a person cannot present information as to where they live/work then the cop could potentially take them into custody.

Or perhaps there arent ~_~ Wikipedia says most if not all of these are deemed unconstitutional, which means that could have just been a scare tactic from the people who told me that. Anyway, if a cop stops you and you arent doing anything illegal I would always suggest cooperating, what would only take 3 minutes of your time could end up taking a few hours or more.

I know that I meant if your being held and not free to go for some thing thats not illegal for example, the cops stopped me cause I was "looking" in peoples backyards which is not a crime and I was seized and not free to go tell the cop said so which was illegal for the cops to do because they violated my 4th amendment right.

Plus if a cop stops you just to talk, you can walk away and they cant do anything about it.

I'm pretty sure interviewing you isnt considered seizure. Seizure, as far as I know, involved taking your personal property/phone conversations/etc. Could be wrong, though. Oh but if you were underage at the time there is an entirely different subset of laws that apply to you.

Re: And I thought I was Immature...
well you guys are right, it's not wrong for a cop to stop you & ask you questions but it is wrong for them to search your belongings without probable cause which is a "reason" for them to do so. they have to have a reason to search your belongings. either you looked suspicious or they smelled something on you or saw you with something you shouldn't have had. those are all probable cause.
my dad was a cop for 31 years so i know a little bit.
i mentioned the cops stopping me cuz it bothered me. cops have a way of making people nervous & if you even show the slightest hint of nervousness the cops chalk it up to probable cause...acting suspicious.
[sigh] stupid, i know, but my dad pulled that stunt on us all the time, sometimes forcing eye contact to see whether we could lie to him about whatever he was asking of us at the moment.
where are you going? who's gonna be there? will there be adults around? (if it was a party). if it was in fact a party that was in question he would insist on driving us there to physically meet & talk with the "adults" watching over the party. all that led us to not partying with our friends like the other teenagers were doing, leading us to being left out & not invited because everyone knew how our dad was.
    [sigh again] dads.

I have one too. I was driving home one day, 40 mph, on a busy street, and someone shot my front window with a paitball. Yeah, nasty ugly green color. They are lucky I was trying not to hit someone, and not be hit. I should have stopped my car right there and chased after them. Ohhhhh. What I would have said to their parents.

He's lucky it all came off too. I love my fire-engine red :) It's still scary. I could have been killed if I wasn't careful not to panic. It wasn't easy.

People really need to think about what they do and the reprocusion on others. I know they are kids, but I would have never done anything like that when I was a kid. If my parents would have found out, my butt would probably still be sore.

Well, I was walking down the street and a Cop pulled me over and stopped his car and flipped his lights on and called for back up then he got out and started talking to me then another Cop showed up and after the whole talking and stuff he said your "Free to go" which implied that I wasn't free to go before and he seized my person.

but then again i cant blame my dad for being over protective with everything he saw, heard & dealt with in his line of work being a cop & all.
it's not all about making little kids smile & escorting old ladies across streets to safety & finding lost children & bringing runaways back home to worried parents.
cops have to fear for their own lives every day due to the "cop haters" who gun them down while at the same time, making our towns & cities safer one criminal at a time.
& even then, after their job is done, it's up to the judicial system to make sure said criminals are not re-released back out on the streets. but...
    what happens?
all too often, criminals get a mere slap on the wrist & a "shame on you" finger shake!
    perfect example...
i was raped in the year 2000. typical show down...
cops escort me to hospital after i file a sexual assault charge with them. i go through the painful & humiliating physical examination while having to repeat my story over & over & over to different doctors, cops & the sexual assault response team counselor that shows up.
i see said counselor weekly while the cops find & arrest the suspect & get his side of the story. time goes on & i persistently ask the dectective on my case when the trial will be.
low & behold the counselor tells the detective that i'm not emotionally ready for the goings on of a trial. the detective & the D.A offer the rapist a plea bargain -
"you agree that you raped this person & we'll give you 3 years (which is actually 1 1/2 years for good behavior).
the cops did their job but the the judicial system failed me.
& its situations like that, that led to my dad being so overprotective.
    end of my rant.
