Yup. If you are in Cape Town and you bought in Cape Town then you should not need a permit. Permits are only required if you are transporting between some provinces.
Balls ain't native to South Africa so we don't need permits to keep them here:gj:
OOOPS, just noticed you are of the fairer sex, so Bru was not too suitable... my bad

Re: Got the call!

And yes he is a boy :D

Re: Got the call!
" Permits required
In terms of Western Cape Nature Conservation Laws, permits are required to transport a reptile or to keep a reptile in captivity in the Western Cape.
# Transport permit (44 (1)(a) of the Ordinance)
# Captivity permit (section 31 of the Ordinance)"
I got this info from the Cape Reptile Club. Suppose I will have to wait. Sigh! :(

Are you sure this is right? These rules appear to be for indigenous species of reptiles, not exotics?
I'm gonna find out about this and will get back to you.....

Sorry if i sound a little dumb.. (Im not from africa), but do you guys ever see any wild balls?
-
Re: Got the call!
I have never seen one, don't think they are native to SA. But I have seen some Cape Cobras (Kaapse Kobras we call them). I actually brought a (luckily) dead Cape Cobra to our vacation home while I was out exploring when I was about 6 :O. And I have seen puff adders. Also I have seen little snake (African House Snake:confused:) and a Molslang (Mole snake?? don't know what its called in English:oops:) in our garden.

No balls this far south for us....
I saw a Mozambique spitting cobra last tuesday, we were driving out of the Kruger National Park and he slithered across the road....
I also did see ages ago an Afroc in the park and it had caught a baby impala, swallowed the whole thing....
Hey Steph, I'm afraid you do need a permit
http://www.sareptiles.co.za/forum/vi...136104#p136104
That a bummer..... nevertheless, go get one and enjoy your ball !:gj:
