Yup. If you are in Cape Town and you bought in Cape Town then you should not need a permit. Permits are only required if you are transporting between some provinces.
Balls ain't native to South Africa so we don't need permits to keep them here

Congrats...Hope you have room for more than one...They're very addictive...I plan on getting another as soon as my finances allow for it.

# Transport permit (44 (1)(a) of the Ordinance)
# Captivity permit (section 31 of the Ordinance)"
I got this info from the Cape Reptile Club. Suppose I will have to wait. Sigh!

Are you sure this is right? These rules appear to be for indigenous species of reptiles, not exotics?
I'm gonna find out about this and will get back to you.....
