Sorry for the double post, but I also tried to join that FedEx InSight program and got this email

    Quote:

    Ted,

I receive the email below stating you registered for a tracking solution
    called Insight.

Sometimes our customer mistakenly register while looking for a
    particular package.

Please reply back if you'd like me to approve Insight for your use.

Also was the new FedEx account number set up for personal reasons or
    business.

    Take care.
I should tell them business correct?

I just sent my package out and it cost me $40. How do I make sure fedex will pay for those costs?

Just wanted to post that I am now FedEx Certified. took about a month to complete. imo it went very smooth and very fast. I am still waiting to get reimbursed for my initial shipment cost to the testing facility. But ive got a couple FedEx gals pushing paper for me to get the money back!

Its too late now. Your stuck paying for it unless you have a good rep to reverse the charges.

Needed to talk to someone in packaging to get a acct # to charge it. Mine was sent out last week First Priority over night. Got my passing email yesterday.

CONGRATS!!!!...Like Rich says it can be too late unless you have a good rep push it through...I was charged like $15 for my shipping and my rep got credited back to my account...Damn, I love that girl!!!! :please::please:

I am finally certified!! Took my over a month, but the majority of that wait (3+ weeks) was waiting to hear back from legal with the finalized paperwork.

I got some...for lack of better terms...incompetent fool...who said it was on its way to legal and I'd hear back soon. I e-mailed her several times over the course of the next couple weeks and left voicemails and got nothing. Finally went back to square one and they said there was no record of anything ever being sent to legal and that I needed to fax in my results (like everyone else) which I had never been asked to do before. The first person was just useless. So I faxed everything over last Friday, and now I'm impatiently waiting.

I still don't have a "rep", they just keep giving me the number for the account rep "pool" to call and leave voicemails. Its beyond frustrating. I'm about to resort to hand delivering snakes across the country instead.

For it to be paid by FedEx it needs to be sent 2nd Day...However, you might still get charged like many of us...If that's the case you have to work with your rep to get the charge refunded...Good luck:gj::gj::gj:

That is correct...Still send it in...When you get your "approval" then you can start pushing them to connect you with your rep...Sometimes you have to make multiple calls to the inept and then they'll get you to them...

FINALLY...got a waiver and signed it this morning and sent it back. I'm so frustrated with the overwhelming majority of Fedex people apparently having their head...well...you get where I'm going with it.

I can't wait to just be done with this so that hopefully I can interact with them as little as possible.

Maybe pandp would be a better selection to write a revision to the guide. I think at this point mine would simply say, "Good luck."

Twisted...You did an excellent job with your resource...Without it I wouldn't have been able to get through the process...However, from what I'm seeing and hearing it really comes down to the rep...I wanted to give myself a lobotomy with a butter knife at times, till I got my "passing" report and then found my person...

But none the less, "Good Luck!!" is a great phrase to use because much of this process SUCKS!!! But now that it's done...OMG it's soooooooooo easy...

You're almost there. Once you sign it and send it back to them within a day or two they'll send you the waiver one more time, this time it will also have Fedex's approval on it as well. At that point they should say you're allowed to ship per the terms of the waiver.

Hopefully you got a great rep like pandp. At this point I'm certified and still have no clue who my real rep is. I hope its none of the idiots I had to deal with already.

Getting to know your rep is very important!!!

call the main fed-ex number and ask them to connect you to your rep..they'll get your Fed-Ex account number and connect you.. Introduce yourself and tell them that you just wanted to know their name and let them know who you are and what you're about.. Get their direct number and extension..

Should any shipping mishaps occur then you know who to go to.. they can do every thing from contact drivers and hub managers for you to get you discounts and let you know about shipping delays. I get calls during the winter from Carol my rep telling me that certain hubs that my packages go through will be closed due to weather and to hold off shipping till I hear from her again..

Save me and my customers great amounts of stress and heartache.

Again..GET TO KNOW YOUR REP!!! it may just save some snakes lives and you money..

Trust me, I've tried. The person who I assume to be my rep does not respond to my voicemails or e-mails. At this point, I've resorted to going to someone else's very helpful rep to confirm whether or not they are in fact my true rep and if so I am going to find out who the regional manager is and see if I can get a different one. I need open channels of communication with the people who are shipping my customers their snakes and right now I have anything but that despite my best efforts.

This really depends on your location and the quality of the FedEx call center reps...Lately, many have been having more problems and the original post of this thread is very misleading...Twisted's 411 is very helpful and if a part could be added to not set expectations on the assistance of the reps, that would be helpful...I was blessed with a great one, but I think my situation isn't in the majority now days...

Ooooooo, bad memories of the process....:rage::rage::rage:

Well got my paperwork back today and I am now Fedex Certified! It really was pretty simple. All in all it took maybe 1month thats with me doing it on my free time. The phone number on Page 22 I think really helped! Called it left a message and someone called back the same day and got the email with the legal paperwork out to me! Im so glad that I don't have to use a 3rd party company to ship anymore. Now to have a good season this year got lots of cool project to work on!

You can be the example of the fastest turnaround...I got certified in around 2 weeks...And others took over a month if not longer...

Test package approval is pretty cut and dry and fall within the forum stated time frames...The legal documention is the part that takes a bit of time because many reps do not know much/anything about shipping reptiles...

Thus, if your certification process was 4 days...I'm in awe and once again...Sincerely, congrats to you...

After reading all this, I thought, why not try. I might only ship a reptile in a blue moon, but might as well do it right.

Sent out the test box yesterday, just shipped it ground on my dime, $6. To save myself the trouble of finding a account number to bill it to them, and have it end up on my account after all. Second day would have been much higher, and it will arrive within 2 days regardless.

So now we'll see what happens, LOL.

That doesnt sound right that you would be sent there...

I talked to mine today, and he is putting the request for legal paperwork in for me.

Just to make sure.. You do have a fedex acct, and you told the operator to give you to your rep?

They will send a message, I dont think they are all in the same phone system. I had no luck getting info on getting certified, so I sent the test package in without a lot of help. I got approved, and all they needed was the 5 digit # from my approval letter.

If you have not gone through this entire thread, you may want to. Some things have changed. The test form is one thing. The new one you can fill out on your computer, and they dont have to read horrible handwriting like mine. I think this is is it.

    http://www.fedex.com/us/services/pac...ckageservices/

Remember to get the acct # to bill them when you print the shipping label up. That # is listed on the 1st page, I think.

    Hope this helps.

Just got the email that my test package has passed, and I'm approved ! It says someone will be in touch with me regarding the legal paperwork and to let them know if I need help in the meanwhile.

Since I'm in no hurry whatsoever, so far it has actually been very easy. Guess we'll see how it goes from here ;)
