I dont have a pool, and I HATE ocean swimming. Surfing gets my heart going, but not nearly as long as it should.

Smoking definitely isnt helping my situation either.

A site that inspired me a lot when I was "active" the last time was gymjones.com, the guy who trained the "300" actors. (It was not about triathlon, but to get in shape)
Just visited it and I think I will start my day tommorow with a little workout...:D
I know I will like the pain and I always loved it, but sometimes I really get in this lazy routine... get up...go to work... go home.... relax and do homework... drink some beer... go to bed.... Need to break it up...:taz:

AMAZING. I also found this link (of course cant find it now) for workouts that old Roman Gladiators used to use.

I estimated my calorie intake before I started all this to about 3500-4000 (sometimes more) a day....thats a lot.

I am shooting for a 1500-2500 intake now. Not once have I felt hungry, starved, or malnourished.

1500-2500 is probably a really good number for someone of your body size.

You might check out Matt Fury. I did his "hindu squats" and "hindu pushups" for quite a while, they are pretty intense.

You're gonna have a california beach bod in no time!

The only problem with the "300" workout I have is, not everyone has access to that kind of equipment, lbs, or motivation.

I really dont want to become "muscley" and not be able to scratch my but. In fact seeing some of those people is quite disgusting LOL. I just want to be fit and in shape.

    I dont know..LOL

That is exactly what I am doing. The Hindu Pushups are freaking intense. I feel the burn with every SINGLE one.

congrats Pat. its not easy, but you'll get there. And you know you'll have a support team here for ya.

I need to do more exercise myself, all this lovely flab build up from having kids, but by the time I'm doing racing after them I'm too pooped to do a better routine for myself :rolleye2: although I am taking a step in the right direction.. I ordered that 10 minute trainer by Tony Horton. something, anything to motivate me. :D besides, Elmocize just doesn't quite cut it. :P

There are some exercises that need no equipment at all and some just need cheap weights, but what I love about this "training-philosophy" is the intensity AND that you train useable strength, other than these "testosterone and growth hormone" doped body building monsters, who get out of breath if they need to carry two bags of grocery in the fifth floor.
I tried to convert these strategies to my regular gym training back then and got some strange looks, sweating and screaming, but the results spoke for themselfs.
