Mouth rot - BP needs help!

Hello, I was just visiting my local pet store. They have a BP that is showing signs of mouth rot.

What is best way to treat it? Is it contagious? What causes this condition?

They are not reptile experts. I told them I would check into & help them treat this guy.

However, I am a fairly newby to this hobby and have not had experiance with mouth rot yet..thank goodness!

    Thanks!

Mouthrot is treated specifically by a veterinarian. You probably can't choose over the counter meds by yourself without a vets consultation. Like scalerot, it is due to too damp or nasty conditions in the tank. I don't suggest purchasing a sick animal, but you can suggest them to put that snake on papertowels or newspaper and try to get it to a vet. It should not be in a cage with other snakes anyway, so if it is, suggest that change as well.

Yea, I think this snake came to them with the mouthrot. The current cage conditions look good. He is a big boy. So, I dont know his previous conditions. I will give them your advise...Thanks!
