Re: Help! Trying to keep 'em healthy!
As of now, none of mine are bowl tippers, but I also use heavy crock type water bowls. They're the kid they sell as dog water dishes. They seem to work just fine, and only cost $8 or so each. I bought a whole case of them from a local pet store at a discount.

Re: Help! Trying to keep 'em healthy!
Slim, Thanks for your input. What I've been using is the large plastic dog bowls from Wally World, that have the openings on the sides (for picking up the bowls). My girls like to use these as hides - they can get right underneath and curl around. Guess I'm going to have to take away their water bowl/hides - no more water bowl gymnastics! They're getting ceramic bowls - thanks again!

You can remove the substrate where the water bowl is, put the bowl on the floor of the cage/tub, and then put the substrate around it again. This is what I do in my corn cage to prevent her from getting under.

What else should I do?

Hey sorry about the hijacking but our problems I thought were kind of similar and well thank everyone for there help. It seems she was starting a shed but I have never seen any of my snakes do that.

Re: Help! Trying to keep 'em healthy!
I am using a water bowl/hide combination as a space saver for all my balls except one. A male het for Albino kept raising up underneath and spilling the water. I got tired of changing the aspen so often and switched him to a plastic hide only and a separate ceramic water bowl.

Re: Help! Trying to keep 'em healthy!
The ceramic water bowls are harder to tip. I have one that is always making a mess. If he can't tip it, he gets as much of himself as he can into the bowl and displaces the water.
Keep the substrate dry. As soon as you see a spill clean it up and change the substrate.I use newspaper.
